Dodgy people
As I live in London I knew the day would eventually arrive where someone would take a bit too much unhealthy interest in Abby.
On our evening walk got stopped by two suspect looking guys who asked one question before I moved off with her and then another guy near the station who kept eyeing me and her up.
Luckily I've been told I can look like a bulldog chewing a wasp (not sure if i should take offence to that lol) and covered in tattoos which normally makes people think twice before saying anything but it still concerns me a bit that if someone really wanted to they could take her. Always make sure no one sees me around my house though.
How have other people dealt with this and puppies?

Re: Dodgy people
It has to be said though Mike as I have found out that Staffs are very popular with "normal" people , I myself could be a suspect looking bloke coming up and asking questions as I love staffs (obviously) and will often approach people out of the blue to ask about the dogs , make a fuss and talk about my own
Sometimes I admire the dogs whilst driving past in the car and god knows what goes through peoples minds

I totally get that as I'm the same but I know the difference between someone who admires a dog and someone who is on the rob/gang affiliated

Re: Dodgy people
I came across this a few weeks ago, although Vinnie is nearly 2 a young lad was asking too many questions for my liking. Have I had him done and aren't I going to breed with him. This was at a motocross event and he was pointing him out to someone else and taking pics of Vinnie. It did make me wonder as they could have always followed us home. Or perhaps I was just over reacting.

Thankfully I haven't had anything like this happen to me but then I dont tend to talk to many people when I'm out on my own with Rocky although there are people around.

Re: Dodgy people
I'm happy to talk to most people who I get a good vibe from and even some of local big shots round here who can look quite intimidating are actually very respectful and admiring. It's the people that are interested in baiting and backyard breeding that I give a wide berth.

Re: Dodgy people
Very scary. Thankfully I have not ever had this happen to me. I can imagine it would really make me worry. Keep a close eye on her and make sure all your doors are locked when you aren't home. Do you have a neighbor that could keep an eye on your house when you are out to alert you if anyone suspicious comes around?

Best thing is to stay aware of who is around you and be aware of your surroundings, keep your eyes and ears sharp, stay safe boys and girls.

Re: Dodgy people
I've had this a few times in my area. Generally, people are great, they always make a fuss of Zeus and can't get enough of him. But I have had people and most recently, a car full of suspect guys literally emergency braking when they seen me and Zeus, asking the same questions.. "is he a pitbull?".."do you know anyone selling pups"... etc.. as soon as they start asking me questions like that, I know what they're up to and my immediate reaction is to give them short, straight, rude answers, as if to say "do one". They generally get the idea that I don't want to speak to them as I naturally tend to get aggressive, but it can be a scary encounter as you never know their true intentions.
As stated before, just be wary of your surroundings and stick to main/populated roads.
