Re: My Staffy hyper/excited
My boy is the same. I'm inclined to think that it is typical Staffy behaviour - they just love everyone and get soooooo excited, bless them.
Training, training, training is the way to go to stop jumping up, although it may take a long time for the lesson to sink in! I was told when my Dobies were young and almost as excitable to tread on their back paws when they jumped up. I never was very keen on that "cure" so can't say how effective it might have been, but they did grow out of it, eventually, with (kind) reprimands "No jumping" and a check on their collar. Still working on it with Kuchar, he's gradually getting better. Striking the balance between getting the dog to greet visitors/people met on walks calmly and avoiding getting the dog to think that meeting any person will result in severe reprimands can be quite a fine line.

I am also still working on this with Daisy, it's just training, time and patience!
