Ivy at 6 months (long story)
So ivy's just turned six months, In the six months ive had her ive had numerous comments about her not looking like a staffy as she got older and as i have a 7 month old KC registered staffy also it is quite easy to see she doesn't look like one, it seems that somebody else also thought that she didn't look like a staffy as they reported her to the police as a "dangerous dog" i found this out by the police coming to my house with an rspca inspector aswell :-< turns out somebody had taken it upon themselves to report my six month old puppy (would have been around 4 months when this happened) as a dangerous dog because they thought she was a pitbull.....So the rspca took a mouth swab and blood test and it turns out she is Now this was stressful because all we could think about was whether she was going to be taken and put down shes a family pet and was bought under trust that she was a Staffordshire bull terrier shes in no way aggressive or is she being used for anything other than to be a lifelong loving family member. Anyway to get to the verdict the police and rspca came and vetted our house and did a temperament test on her and were happy that she is a family pet and our happy for to keep her under these circumstances : Shes was to be insured asap, She was to be neutered asap,She was to be microchipped asap,She was to wear a collar with contact information at all times,We are to get a dog license for her asap and she is to be tattoo'd asap.
This does not changed anything shes still my puppy i still adore her ! and she will be treated like any other breed of dog. The reason i havent uploaded any pictures of her for a while is because this process had been on going but now it is all over and done with and ivy is now registered on the index of exempt dogs.

I must admit she doesn't look anything like the real pits i've met, her head shape is all wrong, and looks like a cross to me. Also the DNA tests they do are utter garbage and so inaccurate!
But hope everything turns out all right for Ivy regardless

DNA tests are about as useful as a blind man having a look at your dog. She is extremely unlikely to be a pitbull or even a pitbull cross they are just so rare in england (although many tough lads like to think they own a pitbull) she is more likely to be a staffy cross.

That must have been a very stressful time for you to go through all that. Ivy looks like a lovely dog and it's good to hear that you have follow all the guidelines for keeping her in a safe and happy home, well done.

Re: Ivy at 6 months (long story)
i get this problem with people all the time, My Boss is Staffy x American bulldog but doesnt look bulldog at all so basically just a big big staffy, hes twice the size of any adult staffy iv came across and often people ask (after iv already said what breed he is) 'hes a bit big to be a staffy, he looks a bit like a pitbull' he looks this way because hes not a staffy hes a staffy x! some people annoy me when im on walks lol rant over your dog is lovely and im glad its sorted as for looking like a pitbull personally i dont see the resemblance, but im not expert.

Re: Ivy at 6 months (long story)
Ivy is gorgeous! The DNA tests are garbage and not reliable at all! I'm not sure she is a pit! However she also doesn't look like a staffy so I can't be too helpful in telling you exactly what she is besides that she is a cross of some kind. I'm sure this must have been terribly stressful for you and I'm glad it is all over now for you and poor Ivy!

Re: Ivy at 6 months (long story)
wow , poor things has been through a lot already at such a young age , bit mad as well because dogs grow so funny up until 2 years , I can see she doesn't look full staff , but neither does she look like the dogs in your links . You won't really get a good idea of how she will turn out until at least 12 months but from what I've seen about the DNA tests are next to useless

Re: Ivy at 6 months (long story)
Had myself convinced she was a pit or pit type for a minute while i was looking at the pictures on the internet but then my mum showed me she had a picture of her parents saved on an old phone and this sums it up alot
