Re: Electronic cigs!!
They are rumours that they are full of bad chemicals (someone told me dog muck but that may be an urban myth!). I wouldn't trust them

Re: Electronic cigs!!
I must admit that I do love to have a ciggie, and I love it 20-30 times a day and have done for more years than I can remember.
An electronic cigarette doesn't come anywhere close to the enjoyment I get from the real thing, but I am considering going onto them plus Niquitin tablets in yet another attempt to kick the habit and save myself a shed load of money.

Re: Electronic cigs!!
I'm in the throes of stopping and have one , so do a few mates from work . It's ok but nothing like the real thing and using it I have managed so far to reduce myself down to 4-5 fags a day as opposed to 40 , can use it in the car and out of sight in non smoking factories etc ( I know in theory you should be able to use them anywhere but I would never walk around in public with one , never mind use it on a plane or in a customers whilst i'm working etc)

Re: Electronic cigs!!
Good going that Dave, 40 a day!!!!! To be honest, if I smoke more than 10 a day, I've had a bad day.

Only roll-ups though Matt , If I smoked 10 a day and they were roll ups I don't think I would even consider giving up

Re: Electronic cigs!!
there is nothing medically wrong with them, they are nothing but water! My mum have one and has used it for 3 years, her health is better now than when she smoked! i have no problem with them. if they help anyone get off cigs they are not a bad thing. the gov just want to tax it cause they not making the tax off cigs anymore

Re: Electronic cigs!!
Surely there's some sort of chemical in there.

There must be some repercussions Hayley as they release Nicotin into your body but generally better without tar and no release for any bad stuff into the air for other people , it's only the smoke they give off that is formed from water vapour

Re: Electronic cigs!!
My partner is a "Vapour" as he calls it, I gave up 4 years ago, cold turkey, he struggled. He hated the smell of smoking but ironically enjoyed the act of it. He loves his Vapour one, all the lovely flavours he can choose from, his lungs have cleared and he can run upstairs, he isn't half as grouchy as he was and he doesn't smell of smoke.. he can sit inside with his Vapouriser and I get the waft of Cherry Menthol, Vanilla and all the other lovely scents that waft across. Huge improvement in our household. He is on a fairly low level nicotine content now and is working on getting down to the nicotine free ones (he's almost there).

Re: Electronic cigs!!
I tried everything and failed. I tried the e cig and haven't had a drag for over 3 years now. To me doesn't matter if it's lolly pops or biting your own toe nails, if it works then who is it harming. Not for you no probs but can't see why they would bug you

Which one do you have Mike , my OH conned a free one from the doctors on her pre pay card , Gamucci think it is but costing it out if I keep using it like I do then it is a replacement for the baccy rather than help to stop

Re: Electronic cigs!!
I got it from the chemist at the time. Can't remember the make just remember the colours of the packet/box was white with green writting. Only used it for 1-2 months. Was expensive
I remember running that and the extra 12 meals a day I was eating ended up costing a fortune

I'm in a battle at the moment as there was a little amount of baccy left in the house when we decided to stop and the OH wouldn't bin it , so I just get rid of it where I can and use the ecig at work and in the car etc . all armed and ready to go with the patches and all as soon as that baccy has gone. If I was to make a mental decision to call quits now I would be driven insane by the OH still having a tug

Re: Electronic cigs!!
There is nicotine yes, but no more than in a cig MINUS all the other crap. I think anyone saying there is something wrong with them in denial or suffering financially cause of not sellign them

Re: Electronic cigs!!
I have nothing against them, im a smoker myself, wouldn't use one to quit though, but if it works for someone else then why not!
But personally I would never use it after reading this! http://abcnews.go.com/Health/electric-cigarette-explodes-fla-mans-face/story?id=15645605#.UdVVxdB-_IU

Re: Electronic cigs!!
Don't see the problem with them. If they help people cut back and/or quit, I'm all for it. Healthier than plain old cigarattes, at any rate. Some people just can't cope with cold-turkey and don't want the horrible withdrawal symptoms. Nothing wrong with a little help to cut back.

Re: Electronic cigs!!
Ok, i might of been a little ignorant. If it helps for people to quit/cutdown etc then fair play. IMO, it's all in the mind. I just don't get people that walk around sucking a piece of plastic with a big green light on the end.
