Hi and help lol
Hi guys new today just wanna say hi and ask a quick question please
I've owned a staffy for the last 12 years and he's still as young in spirit as ever but is physically ageing lol , no more hoping the 6ft fences in the garden to take himself for a run lol now he goes through them so a £100 on fence panels later I'm looking to get him a bit of company ! Now a couple of years ago I looked at getting another staff and found a breeder that was breeding blue pied staffs !!! Now if I remember rightly they weren't show spec as to speak they were longer legged 18" and looked more muscular/stocky and I im sure i remember they were off the uk on maybe Isle of Man but could be wrong ???? I know they only owned 2 dogs the mother and father
My question is does anyone know where I could get In contact with them or another breeder that breeds big blue pied ???????
Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome from me and Daisy
I'm afraid I know nothing about breeding as I've only rescued, but a lot of our members do so I'm sure someone will be able to help.
Also we have a breeders chat forum, so there may be some information in there

Re: Hi and help lol
Hello welcome. can't help with the search im afraid. Just make sure you read the above links to ensure you get a healthy pup who is not going to be bred unscrupulously. Generally blues are larger as they have been bred to be so, but this is not necessarily a good thing for the staffy breed.

Re: Hi and help lol
Hi & welcome.
Although I'm not saying that all breeders who don't register their dogs are bad breeders, many of them are! DNA & other health tests should be carried out on both the sire & dam prior to mating, and blues should never be mated to blues!
If they are 18" to the shoulder you could also have the problem of them being classed as pitbull 'types' and your pup, if it also grows to that height, could be taken away from you at a later date.
I would, personally, stay away from any non-standard pups.
The best way to look for your ideal pup would either be to contact rescue centres who often have Stafford pups available, or have a look on champdogs for an up & coming litter that you might be interested in. If you find one you like, please feel free to post on here & we can have a look for things like health tests & COI percentage for you.

Re: Hi and help lol
omg Caryll, Kenny is 18 inchs to the shoulder. Thats frighting (((( Even tho I could prov his parentage, could Kenny basically have problems because of his height alone. Dont the stupid people who "decide" a dog is a "type" understand that its possible for a stafford to pop up here and there as its in their dna. A lot of champs from years ago were 18 inchs. xCaryll wrote:Hi & welcome.

Re: Hi and help lol
You wouldn't have a problem with Kenny because a) you can prove his ancestry and b) apart from his height he's the epitome of a stafford!
But if a big stafford, especially one that is not only taller than average but leanly built etc, is seen by the authorities & you have no proof of parentage then you could have problems.
Of course the easiest way to avoid it happening is to keep your dog well trained & out of trouble, but we all know that there are some spiteful people out there and trouble often finds a stafford!

Hello and welcome to the forum from me and the kids
As above , try and avoid taller dogs and keep to standard where possible
@ Kelly no way will you have any problems with Kenny he just looks like perfect breed standard on zoom , I'm trying to catch Tommy now to measure them both as I've never actually checked

Hiya and welcome from me and Pixee.
Now Caryll, would I have a problem with Pixee being a stray, so no papers other than from the blue cross. Pixee is long legged. I just measured her, and to the top of her shoulder, infact top of her back, she is 19". I need to know where roughly top of shoulder is.............

Re: Hi and help lol
I would imagine the rescue centre had her down as a Stafford cross? If you still have the paperwork, then it should be on there. No, it doesn't prove anything, but it'll go a long way to convincing the authorities!
But at the end of the day, if your dog is well behaved & friendly then you shouldn't get any problems with the authorities in the first place.

No she is not a staffy cross, just a long leggy staffie. Oh yes I still have the paperwork, and it says staffordshire bull terrier. She is adopoted by us from the blue cross. As such she still belongs to the blue cross, e.g. she goes back there if we cant cope with her or cant keep her for what ever reason. She is ours for life, so long as we look after her well etc.
And yes very true re the well behaved and friendly, its the other people that like to cause trouble, not that we have ever had any, and its this part that worries me abit. Thanks.
