frying cheese...
damn it i remember being in greece and haveing this loverly fried cheese but cant recreate it at home...any tips i just keep getting balls of thermo nucular napalm that stck to everything and burn the hell out of my mouth... dogs i know...cooking im sodding useless at...

Feta is greek but I've never tried frying it, it's crumbly so would probably fall apart?

My guess is a fried fresh mozzarella. Feta would fall apart.

think it was a feta style but in a bread crumb with some chili oil drizled over it...was super yum... its my next mission to work out how they do it lol

I remember the fried cheese! Pretty sure it was feta, in cubes about 1" square, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.
Can't remember know what it was called, but I think it was probably dusted on all sides with flour (maybe cornflour) and then quickly deep-fried in already hot oil (probably olive oil).

yeah thats the one, it was either as you say with 1" squares or in a 6" by 5" slab with salad and the chili olive oil over it. rember sitting at a taverna next to the sea waiting for it to arrive with an ice cold beer... this year as I have done for the past 5 its costa del hemel hempstead so trying to bring a lil of the holidays back home.Lynda wrote:I remember the fried cheese! Nathan, clearly tescos need to look into getting better buyers for there products haha! I do believe us Greeks are amazing cooks! My mum has to be the best cook I know, especially Greek food, when mum cooks, its for an army!! Im so lucky that she taught me all she knows, because I think I spoil myself with food...too much haha
