Hi everyone
Hi everyone I am new to the site and have a 3 year old staffy which I got last November.
I was looking for some advice........my dog(Kia) has started whining a lot recently is this just an attention thing? She gets a lot of attention from myself and my partner so not sure if this is the reason for the whining. Has anybody else experienced this?
Thanks

Re: Hi everyone
Welcome to the forum from Rocky and I
Rocky is 5 months old and still whines a lot, especially when he is put outside when we go out, or if he hears us inside and he wants to come in. But we had to persist with ignoring him so he wouldn't get the hang of whining everytime he wanted something and him think we would give in. But Kia being 3 yrs im not sure what it could be. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along and give some advice soon

Re: Hi everyone
Welcome to the forum!
It's difficult to tell on a forum, but whining can mean a lot of things - attention-seeking, discomfort, pain, nausea, excitement, confusion, etc.. If you're worried, a trip to the vet for a check-over should help to explain her behaviour.

Re: Hi everyone
Thank you for all you replies, I am going to make an appointment for her on monday so hopefully they will be able to tell me. I dont think she is in pain it just seems to be if we talk to her or if she is sitting at our feet hopefully its just a case of letting us know that she is still here and nothing serious. Thanks guys

Re: Hi everyone
Hello and welcome to the forum
Yep, my pooch whines when he wants attention, but sometimes he just wants to talk They can be very vocal! It can mean a lot of different things though mind, pain, discomfort, maybe a little trip to the vet for check up just in case?

Re: Hi everyone
Hi and welcome to the forum from me and Gwen!! How much exercise does Kia get? Has anything changed in her routine lately? I think a trip to the vet wouldn't hurt and at least you can be sure that she isnt whining because she's in pain! Keep us updated!
