Please help me choose food
Hi all i hope youre well,
i have found 2 brands of food and looking at nutrition list i cant tell which is better
1) Whole rice (40%), duck meat meal (20%), naked oats, peas, whole linseed, sunflower oil, beet pulp, vitamins and minerals.
Or
2) Fresh British Chicken (min 26%), Maize (min 26%), Poultry Meat Meal, Oats, Beet Pulp, Refined Chicken Fat, Whole Linseed, Brewers Yeast, Egg Powder, Minerals, Fish Oil, Glucosamine Sulphate, Chondroitin Sulphate, Vitamins, L-carnitine.
So to clarify both of them are hypo-allergic but which seems to have better ingredients would you say and sound better for my staffy? Thing i like about no. 2 is that it contains l-carnitine which is excellent for muscle growth an also 26% of chicken but also what i dislike is maize content.
And with no1 all the oats bulps etc dont sound good? Which one of these would you prefer and why?

Second. Higher meat content. It will be quite fattening though so be careful.

Re: Please help me choose food
May I ask why you only have these two foods to choose from, is it down to cost ?
Just to throw another one in the mix for you this is what Rocky has it's called Barking Heads TLC and is also a hypoallergenic food:
Boneless Chicken*, Dried Chicken*, Brown Rice, Oats, Barley, (High Omega 3) Trout, Chicken Fat, Natural Flavours, Sunflower Oil, Lucerne, Seaweed, Dried Tomato, Dried Carrot, Hip & Joint Care Glucosamine 350 mg/kg, MSM 350mg/kg, Chondroitin 240 mg/kg)
*total 50% Chicken

It all depends how high u can push ur budget really. But, if I was to choose between the 2 it would be the second.

Re: Please help me choose food
I would avoid pero for staffies. its a gimmick. it is nutritionally better than the first so if you HAVE to choose between them, its that one.
I would look at wainwrights. It is a little more expensive but not drastically (based on 15kg)!
Brown Rice (38%), Duck (30%) (Duck Meal Meal, Duck Gravy), Barley (14%), Sugar Beet Pulp (8%), Rapeseed Oil (4%), Whole Linseed (3%), Alfalfa (1%), Minerals (includes Yucca Extract 200mg/kg, Marigold Meal 50mg/kg, Rosemary Extract 5mg/kg), Seaweed (0.5%).
