Re: shower or bath
Depends how long you spend in the shower, or how deep you have your baths

Re: shower or bath
I've no idea Steve, my shower is going 8 times a day so cost a fortune either way

Re: shower or bath
I don't know you would think a shower, I much prefer to have a bath myself

Re: shower or bath
It also depends on whether or not you have a 'power shower'. Power showers use about the same amount of water as a bath. Otherwise, a shower's cheaper than a bath.
I like showers, but very occsionally I just like to soak in a bath!

Re: shower or bath
Yeah, I think it depends. I prefer a shower anyway, as it feels cleaner than sitting in your own dirty water.

Re: shower or bath
I agree, in fact when I've lived in houses with a bath I always have a rinse off in the shower after!!Eleanor wrote:Yeah, I think it depends. I prefer a shower anyway, as it feels cleaner than sitting in your own dirty water.

Re: shower or bath
i love shower becasue i dont like to mess about when you got a upset belly or aching belly bath cure it fast
Re: shower or bath
we make 1 bath go through 3 of us most times (me last) just with a hot top up so suppose that is quite economical

Re: shower or bath
I also don't take baths often because I fall asleep... I got chilled once when I was in there for two hours.

Re: shower or bath
I can't remember the last time I had a bath, must be 10 years at least.
Baths make me feel soggy, lethargic, wrinkly and still not clean.
Showers are invigorating, up-lifting, leave me clean - and are cheaper!
Showers - 10 Baths - 0

Re: shower or bath
It's shower for me too, I will very occasionally have a bath but we don't have a full size one so it isn't very relaxing at all.
I've alwyas though the shower was more economical than the bath but I guess it varies from shower to shower.

Re: shower or bath
Showers are the cheapest without a doubt. I used to do the same Dave. Mrs or one of my daughters 1st then the other then I always got 3rds
Had shower fitted this year. Love it not had a bath since. I get to stand in fresh water with no hair dye

My shower head sprays in all directions (got a brand new one up in the loft but not got round to changing it from when I exchanged the shower after it blew up 7 years ago as I had to change the handset rail as well and it needed another hole drilling , too much work ), all the seals are goosed around the bath and my daughter never pulls the shower curtain across properly so soaks everywhere , hence the general preference is the bath
Suppose I could always fix the bathroom up a bit

Re: shower or bath
Can I ask Hayley - how do you not pay for water? I'd love to know the trick - my bills have gone down from £32 per month to £20 per month since I switched to water metering (includes sewerage) but I'd love to pay nothing at all!

Re: shower or bath
Ah Mike, you know I'm thick as a pile of planks
Water metering works out cheaper if there are only one or two of you in a household but for a larger household you're generally better off sticking to the water rates based on your household rates.

Re: shower or bath
We don't pay in n.ireland unless we are a business just the way it is. It is included in our rates, so no separate bill.
