Hello my name is Liz. We live on the Gold Coast have a 4 year old son, Harrys pet rat Bob
and 3 beautiful dogs. Holley 14 years a Bully, Maggie almost 8 years an English Staff and Chevy 5 years Staffy, yes Chevy is the one that was missing Sunday nite, our local pound called Tuesday afternoon to say he had been handed in. The people picked Chevy up from our driveway, being an industrustral estate and long weekend they thought he was lost. I would missed them by seconds. At least he was safe and being well cared for. The things that run through your mind when your pet vanishes. Ive never lost a pet before and I don't plan on doing it again.

Thank you all very much for your welcoming message's. It wasn't a good time last Sunday nite until Tuesday afternoon. A few of the people who were kind enough to post Chev as missing in their groups ect said it is looking more and more like Chev may have been stolen. Once they seen how much publicity he was getting they decided to drop him at the pound late Tuesday pm. They picked him up around 5pm from our drive way. As it is an industrial estate and long weekend they thought Chev was lost. I was yelling and whistling that loud that the shops across the road heard me and I was in the yard and headed down the drive a couple of minute's to 5pm. Chev isn't the type of dog that will go to a stranger, he was abused as a pup and it took a long time for Chev to trust us, and he does but only us. Not only were we dealing with our own thoughts our 4 year old son Harry recently has been diagnosed with PPD - NOS and since Ive taken Harry to all the specialist Chev and Maggie took it open themselves to (Harry's specialist call's it 'work with Harry'). Between both dogs they never leave Harrys side, Maggie has always been Harry's shadow as she was 4 years old when we brought Harry home. Maggie sleeps in our (I didn't say that lol) and everyone thought she would be jealous, the exact opposite Maggie protects Harry with her life. We did put a lot of work into ensuring none of dogs felt left out because of Harry. When Chevy came to live with us 3 years ago, he made it his job to watch over Harry. Poor old Holley is a bit deaf, a little bit blind and a bit grouchy some days so she always man's the station and waits for the 3 musketeers to come back from their adventures in the back yard. When Harry realize Chevy was missing (we tried to protect him for as long as we could) the world may as well have been ending. Harry has a very special bond with both Maggie and Chevy, but Harry was the first Chevy trusted. Harry couldn't even say Chevy's name properly and chev would go to Harry before us lol. To say Harry was devastated is putting it lightly. And Im sure Chev did fret for Harry, he sits where our car parks of a nite and waits for Harry to come home from kindy. Chevy isn't just a dog he is Harrys world, if the unthinkable had of happened, the set back Harry would have had is unmeasurable.
This is why it doesn't add up, Chevy had followed me upstairs as Id just arrived home and Harry was asleep. I carried Harry upstairs laid him in bed, Chev was right beside me. Ive walked downstairs and outside and notice only Holley and Maggie at the door, I started calling for Chev and from that point for the next 2 hours between Al (my partner) myself, neighbours and the local security patrol searched every corner of a 5 mile radius. If Chev did chase the imaginary cat that lives in the corner of the yard Maggie would have chased the imaginary cat as well and old Holley would have sat the door barking telling both they are a pair of nuts she can not see no cat. But both girls were at the door. I really hope that it was the case of a very nice person who simply was doing a good deed, to think what may of been makes me sick to the stomach.
