Stag bar Empty Stag bar

Post by Mandz Mon Jun 10 2013, 08:33

After reading on here about stag bars I got frankie one. He's thrown it around the room maybe two or three times and other than that has paid no interest what's so ever!! I read on the forum about soaking it in tea. So when i made my cuppa I soaked the stag bar in some. Gave it to frankie and still no interest but he now won't leave it alone!! Lets hope it means he will be chewing that and not the kids toys!!!

Vinnie was like that too when he first had one. I don't think he really knew what to do with it, but now loves it. Just be careful when he throws it around it doesn't land on your foot its ruddy painful! Your avatar pic is great btw Big Grin

I've seen many members on here recommend a bit of peantubutter on the ends or even soaking it. Unfortunately we don't get them here.

Yes, just smear a little peanut butter on the end of the stag bar or some marmite just a tiny bit, either should get him interested.

Moo had no interest in hers, but after a few months I ordered one from another company and now she loves it Smile

Mine were crazy for them and devour them (at least it lasts longer than most things - a month or two). Like Ella said. Every dog has preferences.

as soon as they get bored of it hide it for a few weeks and try again and they go nuts for it, works for most toys chews etc. as inteligent as dogs are they get well excited about something they have had before but not had for a while

Seems to me that stag bars are like Marmite is for humans, either loved or - not. Unfortunately Kuchar is in the "not" camp. Another 10 quid sitting around uselessly.

Hopefully he will become more interested in it eventually. From what I've heard most dogs love them (including my pup Gwen) however I have heard of some peoples dogs not liking them or not being too interested in them. I have also heard some dogs go through phases where they aren't interested in them for a bit!
