Chloe's a bit pink
Hi - Chloe has rather sensitive skin - goes pink in the sun, but yesterday after our daily walk on the beach I noticed that all her 'armpits' were rather sore looking, not just pink. They had been thundering through the undergrowth in the woods before the beach, then in and out of the sea a few hundred times, then back up through the undergrowth on the way home. She looks her normal self this morning. Does anyone else with a white Staffie find they can be a bit pink sometimes?

Molly sometime get this and I put it down to the nettles she runs through, it just from being in the grass etc nothing to worry about, but doesn't hurt to check still.

Shéara has this all the time....he's always in and out of grass and spikey bushes and water. Try putting sudocreme on the red patches, it will calm any redness and itching. He also has a white belly that gets really pink and spotty, ive put this down to nettle stings and allergys. Nothing to worry about

Thank you - you both mentioned nettles! And that's was she was tearing through yesterday! Will try the cream too, thanks. What a relief

Katy always ends up with bramble scratches on her belly where she thunders through them. Her muzzle does get pink but that is usually when she is giving her bone serious attention

Rocky has this too from time to time when he has been running through the nettles, I just smear a dab of Aqueous cream on it and it's gone in no time.

Re: Chloe's a bit pink
Thank you everyone The same thing happened today - they spent an hour in the undergrowth and I noticed that the nettles are enormous! I've put Sudacreme on Chloe's pinky bits on her arms and belly, and a little bit on Lola where she seems to have caught herself (they tear through woods without a care in the world!) We tread carefully in our boots and jeans, and they run straight in with bare feet and bodies! They spent a few minutes licking the cream off each other and then decided it wasn't that nice after all, so are fast asleep on OUR bed now Crumbs they aren't half spoilt cos we'll try our best to get in beside them later without waking them up

Re: Chloe's a bit pink
I'm so glad I read this as I'm concerned about Kuchar's right front foot. I've never had a dog with any white on it, and although Kuch is dark brindle, he has white paws, and this paw shows dark red deep down inbetween the pads; he chews at it sometimes but is not lame. I've tried swabbing it with a damp tissue but nothing shows - no dried blood or anything. I tried only today to photograph it to post on this site and ask for advice, but he objected!
So I will plonk some Sudocreme into his paw, whether he likes it or not (and he won't) - thank you for the tip.
