Shelf life
i'm away on holiday to a caravan in a couple of weeks and although i've not even began to even think about what am taking, i've been stressing like mad about what i'm going to take for the fur babies! I dont think the caravan will have a very big freezer and im sure the ppl im goin with wont want me filling it with raw dog meat anyway
So was just wondering how long stuff will keep after its defrosted? Iv noticed the stuff from DAF goes proper discoloured and pongy after a day or so after full defrost....i do still have sum of the vaccum packed stuff from my other supplier which i would reckon would stay fresher after defrost?
My other option is just to treat them to shop (asda/tesco) bought meat while away as i'm sure no1 would have problems with a fridge full of human approved meat

Re: Shelf life
Yeah sorry that would be my only suggestion would be to buy fresh human grade meat, the fresher the better so it won't need freezing

Re: Shelf life
I just take what I need for when in away and pack it tightly into a cool box
Even if anything goes off it's fed to the boys, as don't forget they can eat disgusting off food without problem

Re: Shelf life
Well if you pack the food frozen into a cool box and don't keep opening it until you need to, you will find things do stay frozen for a good while anyway

Re: Shelf life
Let us know how you get on cos this is something I've wondered if I go camping for example. I know like you said with food from DAF and it's not eaten for a day it stinks and the Blue isn't interested in it

Re: Shelf life
One positive of feeding kibble! I always take a mini fridge with me, might be worth a thought.
Happy holidaying

Re: Shelf life
How long does a cool box stay cool for? Only used one for drinks and TBH they didn't last long enough to find out
