Re: Royal canin opinions???
I'm not overly keen on RC. Even in the foods where meat is the first ingredient, it tends to be meat meal. Although meal is very high in protein, it's also very poor quality meat - it's basically all the nasty bits, rendered down & concentrated.
Which one do you have?

Re: Royal canin opinions???
I wouldn't say it's a scam, exactly. Royal Canin do some very good veterinary foods - like food for dogs with kidney problems or those that don't absorb fat properly etc. But the ingredients quality in the standard food isn't the best, and certainly not worth the very high prices.
I know that some people have found it useful for dogs with sensitive tums (I think Janey used it for a while), there are other foods that are much better & a lot cheaper!

She is still on pedgree puddy wet and dry as thats what she was on and i havnt decided what to put her on. Raw isnt really an option as i dont have space to keep it.

James Wellbeloved is a good one, as is Wainwrights. Both are mid-priced & good quality.

would deff recommend the 2 that caryll has mentioned yes rc foods are very expensive and no where near the best you can buy rc put there price i feel down to a lot of vet practices use there foods for neutered and operated animals and for kiddny and weight issues plus they have a very good puppy pack plan for litters so i feel they overate themselves slightly .
burgess sensitive or puppy is another good midrange food
