Re: shampoo's
How often? As little as possible. Dempsey gets about 3 baths a year with a very gentle dog shampoo. At the moment I'm using a bar soap which I find really good, but I can't remember the name!
I used to use John Paul Oatmeal Shampoo, but it's quite expensive.

I have used this 'Dermcare Natural Schampoo' http://www.dermcare.com.au/products/2-uncategorised/59-natural which was really good!
At the moment I am trying 'DGG NATURAL THERAPIES OATMEAL SHAMPOO'
http://doggonegorgeous.com.au/dgg-natural-therapies/
This one seems very good so far as well (used it 3 times so far).
Not sure if you can find these in the UK or not?
I am a bit of a clean freak and can't stand having a dirty dog in my bed so I do wash max about every 3-4 weeks which is more than what is usually recommended but it seems to work for her, she hasn't gotten any skin problems from it!

Molly get a shower around once a month maybe a little longer.. she loves it, and I think she will love it all the more now the warmer weather is here.. makes her fresher. We use baby shampoo on her..then spray with a little diluted lavender water..Keeps ticks and fleas away.

We used aqueous shampoo when Floyd had foliculitis but its great for when he's gone plodding through a swamp. Really gentle and properly pH balanced for their skin. Bought it on Amazon.

It's never done Molly any harm. We read in a dog book that anything you use on a baby you can use on a dog.. within reason..
I spray Molly with essential lavender oil diluted in water after her shower. it's meant to help prevent tic's and fleas too.

Re: shampoo's
You need to be a little careful with a baby shampoo because a dog's PH balance is different to a child's. It probably won't do any harm, and is better than using an adult human's shampoo, though.
I have to say that although I said I'd never change from the John Paul shampoo, the bar soap is really good - very gentle & so easy to rinse away!

Maxi's previous owner used baby shampoo and I tried it the first few times however I wasn't a fan. Her fur felt a lot softer and cleaner when I swapped to a dog shampoo. The baby shampoo made her feel a little oily. But I guess it is different for everyone, might be worth a try!

I use Paw Sensitive Skin Shampoo for Puppy which is made by blackmore. Our Puppy trainer advised us to wash every month, but I wash him every 2-3 weeks. Ive never had a problem with sensitive skin with Rocky. and his coat is always soft and shiny!

Re: shampoo's
I use Malaseb shampoo its antibacterial and antifungal, but Vinne only gets a full bath maybe twice a year. Its usually just his underneath and legs and feet when he has got dirty.
