Re: doggy season
Hi! Sapphie is close in age to Gwen who is just about to be 6 months! If you are going to spay her it is best to wait until she is mature! I would definitely not spay her before her 1st season! It would be ideal to wait until after her second season is finished and then spay her! The first season happens anywhere from about 7-10 months and can even come as late as 12 months! We were originally going to spay Gwen at 6 months then after tons of research we decided to wait until after either her 1st or 2nd season. There are pro's and con's to each and it is a personal decision but to us the pro's of waiting until after a season or two outweighed the con's!

Re: doggy season
All are different she could have a very light one and hardly bleed or she could have just started and it could get heavier! Have you thought of getting the diapers that they make for dogs? I have heard great things and many people that have used them said they worked amazingly! Could help save your furniture/carpets! Gwen is 6 months now, so soon we will be going through the same thing! Good luck!

Re: doggy season
She can have her first season usually anytime up to 12 months, there are varying opinions on spaying, all I can say is its personal choice, do your homework, so you can make an informed decision

Re: doggy season
Louby was 9 months old for her 1st season, back in january. We have just had her spayed a few weeks ago. It wasnt too bad, but was still bad enough that i didnt want her to have another one, as i heard they get heavier...

Re: doggy season
Actually they don't normally get heavier unless they have a litter. They usually stay the same apart from that.

Re: doggy season
i was given the wrong info then..But we werent interested in breeding her or anything, and didnt want to risk her getting pregnant by accident - too many of these poor babies without us adding to them.
