Dempsey's bath

Well, we finally decided it was time for a bath. He was smelling so bad that even the flies were holding their noses!


Now, Dempsey hates water almost as much as he hates cats and it takes about half an hour just to get him in the bathroom. He gets really panicky, poor thing, & shakes & growls softly all the time he's being washed. I couldn't get any pics of him being bathed, but I did get a couple of him afterwards...............it was all just too much!

Arrr He has filled out since the last pics you put on of his and his coat is looking amazing. He is looking like one fine example of the breed

Nice of you to say so, but he isn't! His mouth is wrong, his hocks could be straighter, his elbows turn out a bit & he has a bald spot on his tail!

But he's a character & a half & we all dote on him, so he's got it made, really. He just wishes the baths weren't so frequent (about 3 times a year!).

Well im no expert but I do prefare him to 99% of bullies I've seen including the ones that you photographed at crufts

Dempsey has one cute face and looks a picture of health and you love him so little faults dont mean anything hes our favorite bull terrier

He's got character, & he's a challenge - that's all I was ever looking for, really.

Poor Dempsey.... he looks like he has had a rough day ... sleep it off mate... just think another 4 months till the next one lol

What a good looking boy dempsey is and the poor boy didnt look happy about the bath lol i wonder why they hate baths so much the poor things aint we creul lol

It isn't just baths he hates, it's water in general. He'll go out in the rain, that's fine, but puddles or ponds/baths? Not a chance!

dempsey boy is a hansone chappy and i noticed he likes to distroy his bedding like a certain 9month old staffie i know lol

Yep! That's about 8 or 9 mattresses he's had! The trouble is, I'm a softie & I want him to be comfortable, so I won't just put blankets down for him. Although he'd probably destroy those as well!

Caryll... my hubby Tony thinks your boy is absolutely gorgeous and he wanted me to tell you. He had a bully for years called Duchess before I met him. You don't really see alot of bullys around nowadays.. staffys seem to have taken over over here in Western Australia. He has beautiful markings hasn't he.. and the face to match!! ( Dempsey that is.. not Tony!! )

I have to agree with your OH.
I stand by my view that I think Dempsey is the best looking bullie I've seen and the faults Caryll goes on about well all I can say is sometimes the books and standards are wrong.
Dempsey is the new standard to inspire to and that's that.
Tomorrow we will be sorting out less important stuff like world peace.
