First Competition
Well the agility training is going well (when Ledger doesn't nick his tuggy and decide to hide in the middle of the tunnel) he is jumping well and getting fairly confident at the equipment its my training that is letting him down (facing the wrong way/using the wrong hand etc). Anyway our club are having a fun beginners competition on Friday and I was just going to take Ledger just to get him used to the kind of atmosphere (he gets stressed in new situations almost like he is shy) but it was suggested tonight that I just enter him and see how he gets on.
So that is now the plan, wish us luck we will need it

Re: First Competition
Well that was eventful
Both the agility and jumping courses had weaves and we haven't really done them yet so just went past and both courses had some interesting scents in the bushes which were distracting but it could have been worse
First we had two runs on the jumping course there were a couple of really tight turns between jumps which he did quite well and generally it went ok it was our first go in those collapsed tunnels so he was a bit nervous but second run he went through it 3 times!
Then to the agility he ran quite well on the first run (when I remembered which way to go) but on the second there was a barky collie which ended up running alongside us in the jumping arena well that took Ledgers attention and off he went finding the only hole in the fence to join the other dog well I got him back and he ran the rest of the course really well got all his contacts and I think only missed the start of the seesaw as he saw the A frame and headed that way
well lots to learn for me back next month to see if there is any improvement

Re: First Competition
Great well done, remember its new to him and very very exciting. It must be hard to stay focused when there are so many other dogs and excciting smells. Great photo, look at that massive grin!
