Help With Auntie's Dog
Not a Staff, but anyway, I'm meeting up with my auntie on Wednesday with Loki and her dog, see how they get on. She's not exactly dog-friendly, but nor is she aggressive, we'll just be walking them together and take it from there. Anyway, she used to bark at dogs and now my auntie says she doesn't do that anymore, but she does bark at people. When people walk past the house she'll bark at them, but even outside she's started doing it. Anyone have any ideas why or how to combat it?
To be honest, she's not had any real training, they let her do whatever she wants, she's a typical small dog that's been allowed to get away with anything, and she's become pretty dominant as a result. She's sweet and affectionate, just...a diva.

Teach her the command quiet. We taught Maggie our rescue dog, she would bark if people approached the house or walked past the back yard. If she barks, tell her to quiet, as soon as shuts up give her a treat and praise her. If Maggie wouldn't be quiet, if she was in the yard I would bring her in the house for a few seconds until she settled then let her back out and repeat. In the living room I would shut the curtains and again leave them a few seconds till she settled then repeat.

Re: Help With Auntie's Dog
Probably just needs plenty of socialising with other dogs and people alike. I'm sure they will let along just fine, might be an idea to meet up on neutral ground first.
