Help
God you must all think I am a right worrit, but after Vinnies tum trouble, which fingers crossed has got right now. For a couple of days now he has had a very weepy eye and its closing up I think he may have scratched it with his claw or maybe an infection cause the stuff coming from there is greenish. I have been bathing with tea but as the vets isn't open til Tuesday is there anything else I can be putting on it. Thanks Worry Guts!

Ooooh inez, funny you should ask this as I think darcy has scratched hers too, I've just been using cooled boiled water on a cotton pad and sweeping from the corner of her eye to the outer edge. Hope vins better soon

Re: Help
make some tea, let it cool and then wipe the eye with it. don't add milk lol and don't use the teabag cause it can break and stuff

Re: Help
If you have an Optrex solution in the house, or Saline water such as is sold for contact lens wearers, then it may be worth trying to rinse out the eye with about 1/4 - 1/2 a teacupful; you will probably need someone strong and resolute enough to hold Vinnie's eye open for this whilst you do it, and never mind the drips/floods. This might just flood the infection out, or at least keep it at bay until the vets come back from their long weekend.
We are ALL worry-guts where our dogs are concerned, but this is what I would (and have) do.
Do keep us updated on Vinnie, and meanwhile >< to both of you.

Re: Help
Well Vinnies eye was better yesterday but although not so much gunk coming out from there, there is a film over his eye almost looks like he is going blind! He is very lively and eating fine. I am going to take him to the vets tomorrow anyway just to make sure, still worried though.

Re: Help
Poor vinnie, he's probably got a bit of an infection and needs some drops, in the meantime ><
