My puppy pepper.
I have an adult dog Lily and a new staffy pup Pepper at the moment im trying to teach Pepper to eat outside with our older dog Lily, but everytime I do this Pepper trys to and some time successfully eats Lilys adult dog food she seems to like it a lot more then her puppy food is it okay for Pepper a 10 week old pup to be doing this? How do I teach her to eat from her own bowl and not Lilys? Should I just make them eat or at seperate times? They are quite happy together and Lily doesnt get angry but I want to eventually be able to feed them and not have to watch constantly while they eat everytime.

Re: My puppy pepper.
Welcome why don't you introduce yourself, Lily and Pepper to us here?

I think it's just a case of telling her 'no' and moving her to her own bowl. I'm sure she likes her food just fine, dogs are just like kids, they want the thing the other dog has . I've never had two dogs before so I can't really give any proper advice, sorry, but hopefully someone with more experience will help

I think you'll need to supervise them for a while & every time the pup goes towards Lily's bowl just gently pull her away and say "No, leave it" or something like that. But you'll have to do that many times for her to take it in!

Re: My puppy pepper.
Tiger loves to take Milo's food however he growled and gave small nips until she stopped, keep the bowls a fair distance apart and if she moves from her own bowl just say no and redirect her back to her own, eating adult dog food isn't bad for her so long as she's getting all the nutrients she needs from her puppy food, puppy food is made specifically with certain nutrients to make sure they grow into adult dogs nicely
