I found 3 Kittens - Help!!!

Well, just when I thought it couldn't be any tougher handling Bacon, this morning Bacon found three friends in the backyard. 3 kittens with no Mom to be found. I believe they are feral and mom is done nursing them. Thanks to my neighbors not cutting the grass and having their back yard turn into a jungle. I'm sure they were born there because when I caught two the third ran back through a tiny crack in the fence to my neighbors yard. Anyways, I got them all for now and they are sleeping in a crate in my garage.

Problem is, no shelters or rescues will take them in. I don't want to take them to a shelter because they will put them to sleep immediately. The rescues told me that if I wanted to foster them, I could and they'll pay for their shots and allow me to take them to adoption events on the weekends.

This really sucks because I can't have them inside the house due to other people that live here, Because they can't come into contact with Bacon due to possible fleas or worms, and because Bacon can't control himself around them.
Hopefully someone better equipped will take them off my hands...

Anyways, i'm feeding them wet cat food (Which they have been devouring), gave them water (which they drank a tiny bit since this morning), and put a litter box in the crate. Anyone have any extra advice on how to keep/interact with them until I can find somewhere to take them?

I'm not a cat person but it sounds like you are on the right track. Maybe some toys filled with cat nip to keep them occupied.

I can't abide cats so I've no idea what you can do with them, but I hope you can find them some good homes.

I'm not really cat inclined either sorry, hopefully homes can be found for them though.

Ferel kittens can be a bugger to tame, they are always a little more nervous and usually sickly and people can't contain them cause they just have the wild in them. This is true for me many times. They can be lovely tame cats, but they want to be out.

as for taming them yourself, you just need to take it slow and unfortunately i don't think you will be able to do it with them in the garage (unless you are willing to move yourself in there!)

Personally if i was you i would call a few farms or yards that may be willing to take on yard cats or advertise them on a local rescue/farm page.

Sorry, I don't know anything about looking after cats, but sounds like you're doing the right thing, and well done to you for helping them. Hope you can find good homes for them soon

All depends on how old the kittens are but if they can eat the wet cat food just keep feeding this and also keep them warm because that's a mothers job to keep the kittens warm. I also rescued a kitten she is stil with me and now she is 8 years old. Kittens don't need much just food, water and warmth.

I finally found someone to take the kitten off my hands. After much begging on my part, one of the local pet rescue people if going to take them in.

I was about to take them into the shelter because I couldn't keep them at home. What a relief. At least now I know they will be safe and not PTS.

I had no idea that it is so hard to find someone to rescue. Seems like I was oblivious to how many stray/unwanted dogs and cats are out there. Very sad.

Great news you've found them a safe place to call home until they get their forever home

Glad they have taken them in. This is the time of year kittens are coming out of rescues ears cause noone bothers to neuter or spay.
