Which bones to give and how often
Chiquito has been sicking up in the morning - as there were chicken neck bones coming up the vet suggested not giving them to him to see if this helped. It has, so no more chicken necks it is.
Can anyone suggest different types of bones that would be appropriate? Also, how often should I give them?
Thanks

Re: Which bones to give and how often
They do seem to grow out if necks quickly.. They start swallowing them whole You could try chicken wings or lamb offcut bones, shanks, lamb spine, really anything that is an appropriate size for Chiquito I don't feed the large leg bones, but other than that I give her everything.. And I no longer feed ribs as they are a bit small for Steff.

Thanks Kylie
Do you pick your bones up at the supermarket or a butcher? We seem to have a really limited choice here (outside of chicken bits) .... be interested to hear how you go about getting these different bits so I can try to

Lamb spine is a very good one to introduce a dog to raw bones because they're a decent size that they can't swallow whole, and they're a bit softer than other bones so they learn to chew on them properly.
I get mine from Morrisons because I don't have a proper butcher near me.

Re: Which bones to give and how often
If you have a Morrisons supermarket near you they often have lamb spines from the cuts of meat they prepare in store. Ask them if they can set aside a couple for you!

In Australia unfortunately! But will have to look around for good butchers, I doubt the supermarkets here will be helpful
