According to animal husbandary legislation chickens don't need much space but i like them to have alot of space so in their coop they got atleast 4 foot of space each and their run is atleast 12 foot squared but they also get the run of the whole allotments. they are pretty easy to keep but you have to keep them extremely secure and lock them up during the night or you'll lose them to foxes. Chickens are pretty stupid as well once it gets dark they tend to freeze and stay where they are until it gets light, so mine get locked up at dusk and let out at dawn.
spot cleans daily and full cleans weekly. They eat alot but its usually only forage you can get mixed corn and laying pellets from your local pet shop or even diy shop like i do. mine also have cabbage, and lots of other greens, i also give mine live crickets but they really can eat anything. We get 2 eggs a day off of our two unless we decide to give them one between them or if they are stressed they won't lay. Matilda is slowing down her laying now as she is getting quite old now she's atleast 4 and they don't last much longer than that.
