Wish I had a cigar

Re: Wish I had a cigar
It's been so long since I had a cigar.
I was sitting with a wee gin on Saturday thinking how much it would have been enjoyed.

I normally have at least 20 or so in a humidor but I'm on a health kick as of late so I've cut way back on bad habits. I went to grab one for the UFC and the humidor was empty

Nightmare, J!
Wasn't something I'd have had regular tbh. I stopped smoking a few years back and try to avoid anything now to avoid starting again.

I don't smoke much as it messes with my cardio too much. I have one in the morning with my coffee and that's it. I do enjoy a cigar when watching the fights or a football game though. Not really healthy not too bad since you don't inhale cigar smoke

I can't stand the smell or cigarettes or cigars, it's just seems to linger to me

Re: Wish I had a cigar
Stopped smoking nearly 3 years ago now. Can't do anything that is smoke related as I will just end up on 30 a day again. Do miss it sometimes, like now cos someone has mentioned it

Exact situation for me too Mike. Similar time quit too.
I was out a few weeks ago and took a few puffs of one of those E-Cigs and literally was about to order one as soon as I got home

Thats what I used to quit.
I think if I found out I didn't have long to live the 1st thing I would do would be run to the shop and buy a pack of cigs

Well done all of you have managed to kick the evil (not to say expensive) habit. It's easy to do; I know, I've done it hundreds of times
Tried e-cigs, but just ended up sucking on them madly to try to get some sort of satisfaction from them (which I didn't).
Anyway, boring anecdote coming up because jstaff's original post reminded me of a time many moons ago when I was in a meeting with 3 men, and cigars were handed round. I didn't pass up on the invitation, and unlike jstaff and some American president, I at least inhaled! Anyway, the office window was open onto another office and the smoke alarm went off and what was worse, the whole building had to be evacuated and the fire brigade were automatically called. I've not had a cigar since that day!

Naughty Lynda
I bever got on with cigars cos I always smoked them the same way as cigs. I tried not to inhale but my brain couldn't convince my lungs then I'd end up choking myself

I know Mike, I know - I've been a bad bad girl
But I can't see the point in lighting up a cigarette, cigar or whatever and not inhaling. I mean, why bother?

Re: Wish I had a cigar
It's meant to be nice with cigars and it stops you coughing up a lung and looking an idiot like I always managed to do when I tried smoking one

Re: Wish I had a cigar
Yes I heard that too, that people don't inhale cigar smoke but I still can't see the point in doing it all if you don't get the benefit of the Aaaah - nicotine (gasp)

Re: Wish I had a cigar
My mate and I used to get a cigar sometimes (years ago before smoking ban in pubs). I used to inhale it sometimes(used to rip your lungs). This man said I looked like John Wayne cos I had a cigar. He didn't girls should smoke cigars!

You still get some nicotine but they are too harsh to inhale and take at least 30 minutes to smoke. I mainly have them for the flavor and the smell.

Love the smell of cigars - always reminds of Christmas! I've never had a Churchillian-size cigar (I do know my limits!) but I must admit that the ones I have had I had no difficulty in inhaling, maybe I've got lungs of iron (hope so! )
Anyway jstaff, I hope you've refilled your humidor and enjoy the contents!
