met an amazing dog tonight on walkies

Now its lighter at nights ive started taking the guys out to the woods and tonight we met an awsomn dog. We were walking across a field towards the woods when this massive hairy thing comes crashing out the undergrowth chasing a hare. I was amazed as it was so big yet athletic and matched the hare turn for turn and gained ground in a flat out sprint. Well the hare got lucky and bolted through a fence and the dog couldnt follow. At this point the owner came out the trees and the dog ran up to her and put it front feet on her shoulders and started licking her and being a right fusspott. When we crossed paths it layed down and laska was play bowing it and it just kept rolling on its side ready for play. Cut a long story short after chatting to the owner she told me it was a borzoi (excuse me if i spelt that wrong) and just a little bit smaller than an irish wolfhound . The boy was so loving and gentle im suprised there arnt more about but she did say it was a sight hound so he rarley off leads it. Im smitten with him and my two loved him to bits as he was so so cheaky and playfull yet such a gentle gent. Its the first one i have ever seen and i hope to meet him again as the owner cearly knew her stuff and the dog was a real credit to her. Next bonus is she was well fit and we had a real good chat about our dogs....dumb * me here didnt think to get her number....

I want to meet the people you do on your walks! Preferably male though

They are a lovely breed of dog but not if you are a hare

No steve mate never heard of borzoi there is an irish wolfhound on park walk. This fella was just a bit smaller but more athletic and has a long narrowhead. Loverly dog

Borzoi are cute. Like afghans more so than Irish wolfhounds. They're not too common here!

A Borzoi is a Russian Wolfhound. They are gorgeous. Different than an Irish one, but still very beautiful

There are 2 wolf hounds where I walk, nearly had a heart attack when they walked round the corner, they looked like horses!

Thats the one Kathy, they look a bit like an overgrown hairy greyhound, very very agile as well. not usually my cup of tea but seeing it in action was amazing

This Great Dane looks like a horse Janey

I have only ever seen one when I had my scrumps and she hid under a pool table

they just greyhound with long hair weird looking things i must say there plenty around here

Strangely, there isn't many over here. They are highly thought of and worth a fortune though.

I'd love one some day. They are very gentle.

Maybe a tad unpredictable with other dogs but I'm well used to that

they real deadly to small dogs, i read something in our local news post the other side of Nottingham 2 of them rip a Jack Russell in 2 seeing your dog getting rip in half must be the painful thing you could every see

Yea that's just a trait in all sighthounds tbh. I'd never put myself into that position though if I had a dog like that.
