HC L2hga
I have not seen on the forum the hereditary illnesses of the SBT : HC and L2hga
It is necessary to say that it is complicated for me to read English

They are compulsory tests in France, and the subjects "carrier" are removed by the reproduction.
What about in your country?
---
And for blue/fawn SBT, (colour dilution alopecia) Is there a lot of case in your country?
In france, There is more and more because blue SBT is fashionable !
Of what you think of this color, with the disease which is bound(connected) to it?
It is a big debate in France, and breeders' large number want to make it remove from the standard

Re: HC L2hga
Oh yes we have all the same problems however health testing is not compulsory though a good breeder will do it
We spend many times on here discussing blue / blue matings

Re: HC L2hga
As Dave says Health testing is done over here, but a lot of the time it isn't.
The Blue topic is a "hot" one here. I personally think they are very beautiful, but no more so than any other colour.
My favourite colour is one of the "undesirables", Black/Tan.

Re: HC L2hga
I love Black/Tan SBT too !!!
If one day I have some room and the means, and if a breeder has it unfortunately (That arrives), I think that I would take one for company !
I see that unfortunately we have all the same problems concerning our race
There is even color SBT liver and black and tan which are confirmed...
Or the fashion of the SBT which weigh 25...

Yes, we have the tests available here as well. It's normally acceptable for a breeder to use a 'carrier' dog for breeding as long as it is bred to a 'clear' dog so that none of the pups will be affected. The tests are not compulsory though, unfortunately.
Blue/fawn are very popular here as well. Personally I've seen some absolutely beautiful blue dogs, but so many are bred for colour only, and as you say, colour dilution alopecia can be a very real problem.
