Horrible Train Experience For my Mum
My mum was coming home on the train after visiting my auntie and someone was standing on the tracks to kill himself. Needless to say, he succeeded . I mean, it's a horrible thing to happen and no doubt you have to be in an unimaginably dark place to do that, but it's incredibly selfish to use someone else to kill yourself. Poor passengers were traumatised, not to mention the train driver and the people who saw it happen. That's just horrific. Don't think she'll be going on a train any time soon.

Jesus
I've been on the subway before and its had to stop because the train in front or whatever has hit someone, but actually being there would be awful!
Hugs for mummy x

horrible thing to go through
Those that kill themselves don't realise the impact it has on the driver, very selfish imo

Awful to hear that Tara.
I was on a train once and some girl committed suicide on the tracks at Lisburn. It is def a weird feeling.

Horrible thing to happen. they must be in a dark place, they don't realise the guilt that others suffer from who think if I did this maybe it might not of happened.
I don't think I would want to go on a train again anytime soon if I was your mum.

My heart goes out to your Mum >< ><
My Dad has also witnessed this happen, he was standing on a bridge over the train line though when it happened. He said he just felt completely useless as not able to do anything but stand there and shout, which obviously went unheard.

That's awful! Your poor mum, I hope she's ok.
Selfish? No, I don't think so, because being selfish takes a concious decision to do something to (or keep something away from) somebody else. Anybody who commits suicide is not in control of their emotions, their minds are in a totally dark place & the only thought is to end it.

Sorry disagree massively, how many people have gone on to kill themselves after hitting them with a train etc. Very very selfish, there are other ways to do it should you wish why cause anyone else that amount of grief

i will add in case it wasn't clear i'm not saying committing suicide is selfish but the way they did it by effecting others in such a way is

Re: Horrible Train Experience For my Mum
Your poor Mum it must be traumatic. For the victim it must be so bad to be so low that empathy etc doesn't occur to them, to be so low and so sad breaks my heart.

I actually think if they have kids no matter how its commited it involves some selfish actions no matter how dark a place they are in.

People can be so broken they don't realise the effect on others, I pity them.

Re: Horrible Train Experience For my Mum
Yeah either way it's def not a place any one wants to be in or to witness someone else in

Re: Horrible Train Experience For my Mum
I think when you are low enough to seriously consider such an act, you probably think everyone would be better off without you. I can't imagine being that low but it must feel unbearable.
I hope your mum is OK x
