Itchyy!
Zeke always seems to itch, He does not have fleas, but he does have quite flaky skin, is this normal in staffies? Also depending on where the light is shining on him he looks to have very thin patches of hair in certain places like nearly bold, I know staffies can hardly have any hair is some places.
Thanks Guys

Re: Itchyy!
Logan had this when the bad weather came in. I added a few things to his diet which really helped.
Sardines in Olive Oil once a week.
Raw egg daily.
Tablespoon EV Olive Oil per meal.
Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar daily.
That and rubbing him down with a dry towel after walks really helped

Thanks Mat,
He gets oily fish but he's not keen on egg :/ I will defo try the cider vinegar though, my Mam's dogs used to have that. Hes also on a raw meat diet which is supposed to be good for the skin...

Re: Itchyy!
If you mix the raw egg in with his meal it should be fine, work wonders.
Just make sure the ACV is organic, containing the "mother". This is the one I was recommended.

Re: Itchyy!
Rocky has a little dry skin sometimes and I have just been putting a few drops of olive oil in his dinner which seems to be doing the trick.

Re: Itchyy!
Chiquito has similar skin to what you've described .. some patches on his head and neck look baldy in the right light and he has also had dandruff - as above we've had some success by adding egg to his diet, though we scramble it (without milk) as he turns his nose up at raw egg.

Re: Itchyy!
We took Chiquito to the vet worried it was allergies or mange - it was neither. The vet suggested that it is fairly normal for staffy puppies and that the dry skin will come and go through puppydom but should settle as they mature.
Some, all or a combination of the above was exactly what the vet suggested

It was two of our members Ella and Jackieb that suggested the ACV to me and it was through the forum I started feeding oily fish weekly. I am really just passing on other people's suggestions to me lol. Really works though all the same
