A walk to the reservoir
Start Pub --> middle Reservoir --> End pub , can you guess who planned it
Have got all the UK OS maps on my pc so thought we would go exploring a little bit today , been a while since I did any map reading though so must remember them contour lines only 4 miles but the hills killed me , need some huskies
Always time for a rumble
ok just 1 more roll in the grass
and 1 more rumble
And the end result 2 tired doggies

Re: A walk to the reservoir
wished I'd took the real camera but me daughter dropped out as she had too much homework and juggling with cameras and training lines etc is too much hard work. Tommy munched through his lead at the pub without me noticing so got to go out and buy a new one now someone should make some out of kevlar or something , he's not done it for ages which is why I bought nice soft leads. Tilly of course is just a little angel

Re: A walk to the reservoir
Looking at maps can be a bit deceiving, much remember to check the terrain too
Tilly looks almost like Rocky there rolling around on the grass, that's just what he has been doing only in the dirt up at the field we go to when the park is too busy.
Great idea to get the pub in twice though It can be very difficult juggling the dogs and the camera

Re: A walk to the reservoir
Great pics, love the one of Tommy sniffing the grass casually and Tilly's just all-out joyful rolling around . Also, what's that GIANT Kong in the last picture?

I just ordered another 50ft line for Tilly and a splitter from the same webbing material as there are quite a few great places round here where dogs have to stay on lead. Got a chain splitter for them already but its only about 8" each so 16" of separation tried walking them together on one line and the splitter today and they are ok with it but would benefit from one a bit longer . Couldn't manage 2 training lines on my own so its better than them being on close lead

Re: A walk to the reservoir
Sounds great! I'm on a mission to find more walking spots so that they can use longer leads. Even if it's a bit of a drive it's worth it!

Re: A walk to the reservoir
I'd love to find more weekend walking spots where we can pass by the pub for a refreshment stop but other than the 2 or 3 we already know it puts the walks at 8-9 miles at a time , good for a special big walk but not good for my health so sticking to a few drive to walks for the moment .
The OS map stuff for my pc is great though and want to get max use out of it this summer , I may even invest in a cheap hand held gps

It was very very welcome , just wish the start point was this side of town and it could have been more than 1 beer , the kids were very settled in the shade
