Fastest delivery man ever
I ordered Indian food for dinner and the delivery guy was at our house in under 10 minutes It's just a shame that you can't tip anyone here or I would have given him a big one

Re: Fastest delivery man ever
Thats amazing. I live 3 mins drive from loads of takeaways and they are simular in the way that the delivery ends in 10 mins. Just a shame they put an hour in front of it

The no tipping is a cultural thing. The employees are all paid a decent wage and tips are seen as a handout. In the US and other countries I've lived in waitresses are paid about half of what the minimum wage is and the rest is made in tips. Here the waitresses all make like $10 or a little more per hour.
It does take some getting used to though. If you try to tip here at a restraunt the server will run after you to give you your money back

Weren't sure if it was insulting to them or maybe a government thing where undeclared money wasn't allowed. Only 10.26am here and already I've learn't something new. Cheers J

Re: Fastest delivery man ever
It is seen as a little bit of an insult. I did it once just to see if they really would run after you to return your money After living here for some time I have to remind myself to tip when I am traveling

Re: Fastest delivery man ever
I probably would of too. I would of waited until the oldest person served me and then tipped and run, give me a chance to get away a bit before they caught up

I rarely tip on business as I can't claim it back , apart from the states where its expected so I always stuck 15% on everything and they always paid up
Feel guilty over here but always tip if I'm paying with my own money . Worst thing now is the bloody credit card machines asking if you want to leave a tip

Re: Fastest delivery man ever
I actually like tipping with the credit card as I get cash back so it's like a 2% discount.
