Thank you for all the help!
Thanks to some people on here I found "www.ChampDogs.co.uk" and there I think I have found the perfect upcoming litter for "Batman".
http://www.champdogs.co.uk/litter/28349
The Father's KC name, his real name "Bruce" after Batman's real name "Bruce Wayne". So perfect.
Could you guys tell me if it's a good upcoming litter? Thank you. You guys are so experienced

Re: Thank you for all the help!
Looks like it could be a nice litter. Health tests are in place for the parents & the predicted COI for the litter is 6% which is below the breed average, although still a little high.
The dam is a great grandaughter of a dog owned by one of our members!

Which one's that then Caryll ??
Regarding COI then as Caryll says it would be better to aim a little lower , this is an after effect of good dogs been thrown together in line with older breeding methods which are generally very frowned upon now.
They do look like a beautiful pair though , you have time though to keep on looking if you choose to

The predicted COI for the litter is below the average, Steve. So It isn't one of the worst I've seen.

He is also siring this set

What is COI? Oh, so someone on here owns the grandparent? So that must be a good thing. Is it the Dark Knight male who is related? Or the female?

Re: Thank you for all the help!
I wouldn't touch the second litter with a bargepole! The predicted COI is 13%, way above the breed average!
The COI is a percentage figure which shows how inbred a dog is. The lower the number, the better. The breed average for the Stafford is 7%, so you should always try to find a pup that will have a lower score than that.

That's the thing - don't be rushed into anything. Take your time & find the right pup, it'll be worth the wait in the long run!
If you need help working out the Inbreeding Coefficient (COI) just let us know the sire & dam's names & we'll get it for you!

Re: Thank you for all the help!
It's complicating because there aren't many litters I like the look of. The first one I posted seemed perfect. I am finding this so hard

Agree with what's been said, you should take your time and people here will let you know if it's a good litter or not. If you want the best, healthiest puppy for you, it can take a bit of time to search, but all worth it in the end.

Re: Thank you for all the help!
Can I ask what your main purpose for wanting the dog is ?? Is it just purely and solely as a family pet.
The biggest driver for high COI's is people breeding bloodlines to produce champion dogs so they want loads of champions in the pedigree (and it looks really good to the people that know a bit less) The champions going back through the years have been bred and bred and bred again with close family and this is where the high COI comes from
Do you want a dog with unknown parents , or one that say winner all the way though ?? The unknown parents are generally the much more stable bet as they will be healthy and not have much going on in the way of inbreeding in the last 4 or 5 generations

The op is in the UK & I see you are in Australia, so I doubt he'd be able to take on a pup. However, are the pups health tested and KC registered? Are the COI values below 7%?

How about this litter?
Well I desire a family pet but obviously...I'd really like the kind of dog that can be shown off. It'd be cool. But I don't mind too much.

The price is very realistic too and reflective of a good breeder not a greedy * just trying to make money from a few pups , I could quite go out and grab one of these little beauties myself

Won't make a very good batman for you though ......................... think you should send them the money and let me check him out for a few years just to make sure he is suitable for you
And BTW if you are successful then don't forget our pictures as we know where you live >

Good luck for tomorrow and hope you are successful , was just looking at the Breeder there and the 3 dogs on their link are crackers
Just take things nice and slowly and remember our advice , min 18 month age gap between dog 1 and dog 2 , ideally opposite sexes so you wiull have to settle for Bat girl and 2 dogs are double the trouble and expense but also double the love.
TBH I would have got a pied as our 2nd but they are so stunning looking I wouldn't want to steal the limelight from my very own batgirl

Re: Thank you for all the help!
They're like two weeks old. Born on the 30th of March .
It wouldn't. That's a bitch in the picture xD. So the contrast of black and pied will look stunning . Steal the limelight? So considerate .
I hope so, I have been looking for AGES :O

The link works fine but you are really going to need to think about opening a photobucket account as you will be posting loads of pics
https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t12017-how-to-post-a-photos-onto-the-forum
When you speak to them they should give you a real grilling , if they don't then be on your guard . A good breeder should want to know as much about you as you want to know about them and ideally you want to see Dad as well as Mum if this is possible. Mum should be with the pups and don't accept any excuses.
When I went for Tommy it was a lovely family home environment (Staffs for 20 years but only their 2nd litter) and they owned both Dogs and also had a pup that they kept from the previous litter so could see everything I wanted . We all kept in touch on FB (including all the owners of Tommy's littermates so a great reassurance to see how they all live and grow up

Does anyone know if there is something similar to check COI for dogs in Australia? I'm just curious, Maxi is a rescue and I am her third owner but her ANKC papers has been passed along and I have a copy of them, apparently a copy is not good enough in terms of competing in obedience etc I was told by I rude woman at Dogs Victoria but is there any way to verify that the papers are real?

do you have papers with the history of your dog line? ect parents, grand parent great grand parents and so on?

Yes i do, it is a photocopy though but it has the parents, grandparents and great grandparents on it. It also have her name and breeders name, I have tried to find some information about the breeder but can't find it. When I google her prefix "Santavera" I find a few pups that has Santavera dogs in their pedigree but can't find any more info.
The papers has the breeders name and address (po box) and her registration number but no contact number. I'll take a photo of the papers and upload maybe. Would be interested in hearing you opinion on her breeding!
The microship number is handwritten though. I have always found this a little strange, is this normal? Is there any way of verifying that these papers actually belong to my dog and are not just random?

I don't know if it's the same in Australia, but in the UK any dog (pedigree or crossbreed) can compete in obedience/agility/working trials etc & can be registered on the 'Activity Register'. It's only showing that needs a dog to be registered as a purebred dog.

It's possible that the Australian Kennel Club could verify the registration number, but that won't prove ownership. Have you tried writing to the PO box no? If the breeder was half decent, she'd be thrilled to find out that one of her pups is doing well.

Yes she could still compete as a cross bred dog, so it doesn't matter really. The woman just seemed to assume that my dog was cross bred and my papers were fake and did not wanna provide any advice in terms of verifying them.
I haven't written anything yet no, tried to google more and it's a bit strange because I found in Dogs Victoria's magazine from 2011 that the breeder listed a litter, but I still can't find her on the list of breeders on the dogs victorias website, find that strange. Could it be that she stopped breeding?

Yes, she may have stopped breeding.
I think maybe you just spoke to a miserable old hag at the KC, and maybe if you phoned again you might get someone a bit more helpful?
