any iphone experts?
shor story, i gave my mum my old iphone at xmas, had some issues with it as i'd replaced some parts, all sorted and worked fine, til today when the sim card wouldnt read. tried cleaning the sim card, nothing. put the sim card in another phone, fine. tried resetting the iphone, got this message:
"We are unable to continue with your activation at this time..."
tried rebooting the iphone, same thing, tried it on my computer, same message. really gutted as my mum's got quite attached to it, and we are heading to Wemberley in the morning for the footie, and she's not going to have it with her (for pics etc)
ive done everything every search has suggested, its never been unlocked from o2, never been jailbroken, really at a loose end now...
any ideas?

I'm a total dunce when it comes to technology, but have you tried phoning Apple (or whoever it is you phone when something goes wrong with an iphone) to see if they know what's up with it?

Re: any iphone experts?
Hey
I hope you already have this sorted, but if not you could try resetting it again?
If you hold down the power button and the home button at the same time it should eventually come up with a picture of the itunes logo and a charger cord. You then plug it into your comp with itunes and it should either restore it or start fresh maybe?
Also im assuming your mums sim card is an 02 one also?
Sometimes the phone cant connect to apple for a bit either, this happened with my parents phone and took a few hours of me fiddling to get the software to update.
I hope this helps or its already been solved

Re: any iphone experts?
i sorted it evetually, hardware fault. theres a little microswicth inside the phone that pushes off when the sim cards in, it had shifted too far so wasnt turning off at all.
didnt matter much in the end, i managed to FUBAR the screen with my kak handedness so i've donated my iphone ot the mother, and i'm putting up with an old brick til my contract is due for renewal
cheers for all the tips tho guys xx
