I think it is disgraceful, I personally do not see why people feel fit to dam the dead. She was a mother, a grand mother and whether you liked her not was she was the first female prime minister and a truly towering figure in modern politics.

It annoys me because tbh the majority of people who attend will be my age or younger, I know my friends are, and wouldn't have experienced it or really know anything about it. It's just an excuse for a drink and to cause a bit of fuss.
I don't like politicians in general. However, in comparison to the little posh boy committees we have leading us these days, at least she had a leadership quality. She, as you said, was the first female Prime Minister and I was quite surprised people would speak so ill of her on my FB etc.

Re: OMG
That's outrageous regardless of what peoples opinions are though (if I dare say it) Scottish people do have a habit of celebrating other people's misery as they don't tend to have a lot to be happy about

Re: OMG
Ugh. No matter how people felt about a person, death should never be celebrated. They should have some damn compassion and respect for the dead, as well as her family. Infantile little yobs.

Re: OMG
I think it's stupid. If you're pleased by her death, that's stupid enough because it has no relevance on your life, but to put effort into celebrating is sad. I mean, all those people celebrating, I bet she hasn't even been on their minds in ages because she wasn't relevant anymore, and it's not like her death is going to have any effect on their lives.
Not to mention, all these people celebrating are no doubt hating how the country currently is and are all criticising the current government. But instead of doing the logical thing and trying to change the way things are now, they're going out into the streets to celebrate some old woman dying that hasn't run the country for ages it infuriates me, to be honest.

Have Some Respect.
They are totally out of order and should show some respect for the dead. And if not for her, then her remaining family.
I have nothing but utter contempt for everyone who took part in these distasteful gatherings.
