Re: Peta.
Don't like anything to do with PETA. They are extremists that live in a make believe world. They have some good ideas but go about everything the wrong way by trying to scare people into believing them.

Re: Peta.
i know, they always seem to take things way too far, and push for unrealistic goals... although i was very disapointed to read that artical
Re: Peta.
Sometimes these people get so wrapped up telling others they are wrong they forget to have a look at themselves.
I personally feel that a lot of people involved with their schemes do it for their own self worth.

Re: Peta.
Used to like them when I thought it was simply that they were for animal rights, but as I've learnt more, they're extremists. I don't like any kind of extremist, even if I agree with the cause. Plus, while I agree with some of what they stand for/believe in, a lot of it I think is too much.

I don't like preachers, and I don't like being told what I should and shouldn't believe in or do, they can do one as far as I'm concerned, pictures like the vegetarian one do nothing but boil my pi55, and if anything encourage me not to support them in any shape or form. I like meat, I couldn't live without it but I'm not going to go round telling people they're doing wrong because they don't eat it, I respect their right to choose not too and they should respect our right to do so. I'm the same with religion, whilst I admire peoples faith and loyalty to their beliefs I don't want it shoved in my face, if they show me that bit of courtesy I wont bore them with my beliefs.

yeah but we're not talking about vegetarianisim. the matter is is that they are condeming people killing animals when they them selfs put down thousands of healthy animals for no reason. i admire people who have a passion for such things, and if they live by what they prech and then all for them, but they are not.
what annoys me on this is that they where investigated, which means they where keeping these facts from the public and their donators. people where giving them alotta money thinking it was to help animals when it was to kill them.
also from what i read they are Anti Pitbull, and pro BSL

I didn't actually read anything further than the bit about thousands of cats being killed and binned, and then scrolled down and saw the posters, That was enough for me to form my opinion of them, now you mention that they are anti pitbull and pro bsl my opinion of them dropped even lower.

I always hated them. I never really comment on potential hot topics if I can avoid it, but PETA make people who actually care about animal rights etc look like fools. Because a lot of people relate animal rights believers directly with PETA.
My opinion on them dropped even lower when they brought a clothing range out and have popular singers/bands/models endorse their clothes etc. So their message is further stuffed down everyones throat when it's getting further and further away from what it should actually stand for.

that has to be on of the reasons i avoid them. i'm vegetarian and i always get such awful reactions to it when people find out, i dont go shoving it in peoples faces and i dont go around telling people they are horrible for eating meat, i find its better to let people figure things out on their own. Yet still when people find out they seem to instantly think of PETA and their wacky events.
i dont agree with them. They want to ban pokemon for gods sakes what the heck is that?!
if they had their way, we wouldnt even have pets... since our dogs are slaves. there was a letter from their director that stated that animals dont have a right to life, just a right to not suffer... correct me if i'mm wrong but isnt life kind of the most fundemental right?

Yea the PokEmon thing was another one of their ways to get young people involved with their schemes. They also made their own version of the game, I mean, how has that got anything to do with helping animals?
I've been vegetarian most of my life too, as my Mum is and it was just how I was brought up. I also would never try to get someone to stop eating meat. I totally agree with you, it's much better for people to make their own decisions.

Re: Peta.
yeah when you push something people instantly reject it.
eating meat was a way of life for my family, they own a sheep station. when i told my folks they honestly said they rather i was a homosexual, which didnt bother me, my uncel is * and many other realitives but still it was odd.
it really agitated me when i realised that they where anti pit and staffy and recomended they be put down as soon as they entered shelters, and that ex dog ring victims are lost causes or if the dog has been abused its not worth the effort.... that irks me. think, if they had their way Ellas Chance wouldnt be here, nor would my brothers dog Jack

Re: Peta.
One thing I found really ridiculous about them was that if people are determined to have pets, then they should be allowed to 'do their own thing', no collars or leads, no training (it demeans a dog, apparently, and turns them into slaves). Not only that, but they turn their poison on children as well - children should be allowed to express themselves in any way they want! No discipline, no schooling, no morals.
Bloody idiots.
