Lola has decided that my homemade smoothie is essential to her day - so much so that once the lid comes off I have to stop her launching her tongue down the bottle!

Contents are: freshy chopped kiwi and banana, grated root ginger, coconut pb youghurt and apple juice with a bit of DE thrown in if I have some about.

Anything in there not good for dogs? Wasn't sure about fresh ginger but she loves it and is my best made up recipie yet!

That all sounds OK to me for Lola to enjoy, nothing harmful there, ginger is great for settling the tummy.

I was thinking about something like this to put in his kong and freeze for the summer. Last year I used mashed banana with natural yogurt and then smeared some honey around the top when I took it out of the freezer.

I love any home made dog food recipes. Give us more! I make freeze dried liver treats - I find it really satisfying.

Works well with summer berries and honey greek yoghurt too - La Lola always gets the yoghurt pots as well after I've made them and dives in. Ends up with yoghurty santa beard! She has also now started eating steamed broccoli and cabbage so I might try a savoury smoothie with stock just for her. Or I could just buy baby food and be done with it - would certainly be appropriate!

I thought broccoli was one of the foods on the list not to give dogs too much of. I gave mine some broccoli once and I am sure it upset his tummy. Still trying to find out what upsets him and what is ok.
