our weekend so far...
...has been a bit iffy. Firstly, Roxy was a bit off yesterday and ate enough grass to make herself sick. She was fine after that. At 1am this morning Vinny threw up on the carpet I did give them a bit of tuna with the dinner which was new for them ,so perhaps it was that.
Roxy is still a bit sore from hers and my fall. She grazed her inner thigh just where it folds when she sits, so sitting, going into a down and stretching out hurt her a bit and she makes little groans. So we decided she would not do her agility class today and rather rest. We did take her with to Vinny's obedience class though for an outing and to see her agility instructor.
Arrived at puppy school and Vinny's harness came off before we even got them out the car. There were new intakes today and a baby bulldog and Boston Terrier were stood at the entrance of the field yapping and stressing out - instead of being taken down the field for a walk and relax. Them being at the entrance riled up all the others arriving.
The field for the next hour consisted of: 2 x Jack Russels who howl and growl and go on for an hour solid - I think it's their only outing a week. The two newbies barking and barking. Vinny's obedience class: 3 x Ridge Backs all with aggression issues. 1 x border collie who is overly protective of handlers and 1 x Great Dane who my heart really goes out to - I don't think it's ever been out the house and its tail is firmly between its leg and it's very stressed out and reactive. Sits and barks and freaks out the entire class. The handler sent his wife this week who is just as anxious as he is and literally handles the poor thing by the collar to the point that the collar nearly slipped off and I have no doubt that Great Dane would've made a run for it. It's gorgeous too, just want to hug it and tell it the world's not such a scary place!
What a morning out! Vin did really well in his class though - we're still struggling to do verbal downs. He'll do them for treats but he also won't do a down/stay yet. I need to practice more and remember the he is still a little man.
We did have a good afternoon walk and took them for a little drive afterwards.

Very busy doggy day there Lisa!
Poor Great Dane, it's awful to see dogs that are scared/nervous.

Too bad Roxy isn't feeling better yet, but the rest will do her good. Shame about the Great Dane I love them, they're amazing. Sounds like an up-and-down weekend, but you have to take your good moments whenever they come up hope next one's better for you all.
