Re: Philpotts and Mosley jailed
Heard it on the radio. It's a very small sentence for something as bad as that tbf.

Can only hope now that he gets some real justice from inside prison and who knows if a good enough job is done it might save us taxpayers some money

I voted no, but I don't think they should be killed or anything, I just don't see anything as justice. Nothing is going to make right what they did, whether it's jail, torture or death.

Life should mean life IMO. I watched both documentaries and was shocked at the lack of empathy and callousness of Mick Philpott. Justice has not been served at all.

Re: Philpotts and Mosley jailed
Justice is fairness. Nothing about what has happened is fair. Those kids were killed because the people who were supposed to look out for them were selfish, cruel and heartless. No sentence could ever make it right or equal the wrongs done, so no. I don't think justice has been dealt.

Burned at the stake for all 3 of them would be fine by me , but realistically that isn't going to happen . I've not seen the news today but apparently the blokje was giving 2 fingers on his way out

Attacked her mother as well when she tried to step in. Also been convicted for domestic violence in other instances.

I voted Yes because they should be sent to jail and they were sent to jail, for quite a few years. Their sentences were limited by the fact that they were charged with manslaughter and not murder.
My consolation is that I feel confident that their lives will be made HELL in prison and each day will feel like a year.

I see your point, it could well have been that the sentences would have been the same if "only" one child died. Unfortunately, sentences in this country tend to run concurrently and not consecutively.

I agree, justice most certainly has not been done. 17 years for each child's life might be better.
I'm sure they would meet some characters in jail who would make their lives hell, but as child murderers they will be segregated and won't come into contact with anyone who is likely to do them harm.

And would that bring back the children's lives? No.
They should be in a prison cell for the rest of their lives with the barest minimum to keep them alive. No washbasin or toilet, just a bucket that they would have to empty once a day. Meagre rations of food & water only to drink. No contact with anybody other than their jailers, and even then only for the delivery of food/water & to escort them to clean out their bucket. A bench for a bed.

Yes, that is probable Caryll, and in itself might well be a greater punishment with no human contact for many years - let's hope so.
But if I remember correctly, that sub-human Huntley (who killed two little girls) got attacked and injured in prison, hooray. I wish the same or worse on these latest sorry excuses for human beings.

Have to say I agree with this. Thing about revenge and an eye for an eye and all that is that it doesn't give anyone closure. Once the initial 'Good, justice has been done' feeling has worn off, you're still left realising that no-one's been brought back. That might give closure to people on the outside looking in, but no-one who's personally feeling the loss.
