Rupert and me - now with pictures
Hello
I wanted to introduce myself and my unexpectedly amazing dog, Rupert.
I had fostered a couple of dogs last summer, the second of which was what turned out to be a frighteningly unpredictable Staffy mix with aggressive tendencies. I never thought I wanted a Staffie but soon after aggressive Staff mix went to a new home, I was asked to foster what looked like the most incredibly frightening dog. This was Rupert.
Oh my God - he is amazing. I have had him since August last year and he has changed my life. He is such a cheerful soul and so extroverted. Clever dog too.
I have often looked at this site for advice with training or else to see what the response on here has been regarding the stream of news stories about how supposedly lethal Staffies are.
I just wanted to thank you all for your training advice. Rupert (shelter gave him that name) is now on raw food, we've worked out a rhythm. I am looking forward to the future - so many interesting and unexpected scenarios happen all the time. I live in the centre of London so I get the full impact of traffic/people as well as people's reactions to Staffs - some bad but often very good.
Anyway, hello!
Here are some pictures. The last one is of him trying to take on a pig. Of course he couldn't because he doesn't like confrontation or violence, except with squirrels. Also he is terrified of pigs.

Hello to you and Rupert.
There are so many Staffie lovers on here, its so nice to see/read. They have such a bad rep, generally from people who don't know what great dogs they are!
