Bad girl's night in!
Hmph. Didn't stay the night for the girl's night in. Fuming.
The plan was that it would be just me and three friends from the course, with some pear cider and tequila. That was it. We'd watch movies and play moustache shots.
When me and my friend got off the train, as we both got the same train together, we were supposed to meet the other two there. Neither of them were there. Instead, the friend whose house we were going to sent one of her friends to meet us, whom we had never even met before.
This friend then gave us a shopping list of the alcohol they wanted. A whole shopping list. Cider wasn't even on the list and nor was tequila. Wouldn't have been that important, but the friend I had arrived with didn't want to drink anything too strong, as she had to leave early and get a train by herself.
The shopping list had stuff like three bottles of vodka, four peach shnapps, lager and whisky. None of which I was interested in drinking. So me and my friend went into our own money to buy some pear cider, which annoyed the person who met us at the station because "it wasn't on the list!"
I was furious. This person hadn't even been invited! We'd been planning this for weeks. Hell, since before Christmas!
So yeah, we got back to the house and it settled down a bit. We all had a few drinks and the atmosphere lightened. But only until I realised that all of the lager we bought was actually for her 13 year old brother! He was staggering around drunk and actually threw the bloody cat at me! Twice!
So I told my friend that her brother needed to stop drinking and go to bed, but she insisted that he was fine!
THEN! Later on in the night, she also invited two more friends and her ex boyfriend!
Me and the friend I'd arrived with decided enough was enough and called a taxi to get to the station, which never turned up. After waiting outside in the freezing cold and snow for half an hour, we went back inside to call another one. Everybody was too drunk to even tell us the address of the house, so we had to search through their letters and post to get it!
Finally got the taxi and the train, but I'm still furious.

Oh, and also, halfway through the night, I walked into the living room to find her little brother sitting cross-legged on the floor with a huge pitcher of vodka and peach schnapps, chugging it back.
Talked to her just now on FB and she told me he's currently in bed, crying his eyes out and being sick.

Same here. There was no way I was going to stay the whole night in that place. Utterly disgraceful.

Re: Bad girl's night in!
Apparently she was off with her boyfriend somewhere. That wouldn't have bothered me if the night was going to go as planned. We're old enough to drink responsibly. But the plan didn't involve a 13 year old and his 12 year old friend.

That's why I don't like socialising...
I remember me and a friend were out for a walk (before I got Logan) it was a real sunny day so we decided to get a few cans and sit at the river.
A group of young ones arrived shortly after and one wee girl was falling everywhere and vomiting non stop. I said to the group "here will one of you lot please bring that girl home, that's a disgrace" and they said "Leave her alone, she's only twelve!".
I then got up and went straight home. Because even though it was nothing to do with me, if the police were to arrive I'd get in trouble just for being there and older.

Out of personal choice, though. It was your decision, though I'm not a fan of underage drinking.
But this kid had no idea how to drink responsibly, or how alcohol affects the system and how quickly it works. He didn't know what the hell to do with himself!

You can only do so much, Mat. I think you were right to leave. You'd offered to help, so there was nothing else you could really do.

>< It's okay. Had a bit of a laugh with my friend when we were waiting at the train station. It was snowing so hard that we could barely see each other.

Would rather be a kill joy than be responsible for a kid drinking too much and having to be hospitalised.

Re: Bad girl's night in!
That's like saying we all need to learn how to have sex as some point in our lives! Doesn't mean that kids should be allowed to do it!
If he was safe and knew what he was doing, it would have been none of my business. But he'd had too much alcohol without knowing how it would affect him and was also mixing it. He was too young - physically and obviously mentally - to be drinking. By the end of the night, he was throwing up, going out into a dark street on his own in onesie pyjamas, throwing the cat around, crying and barely able to walk. He hadn't a clue what was happening and looked terrified.

Re: Bad girl's night in!
That's the point. He wasn't safe. When I was waiting down the street for a taxi, I looked back and he was staggering about outside, on his own in a dangerous area. The others in the house were far too drunk to even notice that he'd had enough!

Steve, I think that Eleanor meant that she might say something embarrassing about herself!

Re: Bad girl's night in!
Sounds terrible. A while back, me and an old friend went to another friend's birthday thing, it was meant to be pretty quiet-ish but we got there and there were like 20 people there, none of whom we knew. Me and her are both very shy, awkward, socially-anxious people, so after 10 minutes of people being drunk and messing with us, we ran for it the friend didn't even noticed we'd left. Sounds bad about the 13 year old though.

I'm so sorry to hear that your celebration night turned out so horrible Eleanor
Give it another go - with people you can trust not to be idiots.
And I'll bet that 13 year old was hopefully it will teach him to avoid the evil brew until he is much, much older and wiser.
