First egg
Otis had his first egg today completely by accident may I add...I accidentally dropped one on floor and he beat me to it...he was loving it though so I left him with it. Apparently eggs are good for dogs? Can someone clarify this is true and I haven't made it up?
Also is their any other raw natural treats I can give him? He is fed on wainwrights puppy just now and he is much happier on this ( a lot less hyper, more relaxed, better poos, less wind) than he was on his previous food but his skin is often still really dry.
Thanks x

Re: First egg
Eggs are great for dogs. But again everything in moderation. Logan gets eggs most mornings with his food and abolsutely loves them. A lot of our members feed eggs too
I've never given too much raw to Logan because raw food is digested at different rates than kibble/cooked food. Therefore most raw treats are best served seperately. Raw lamb rib bones are fantastic to start with and great for their teeth.
We have some absolute pro's on raw feeding on the forum. They will give you some great tips

Re: First egg
I had a read through the "what's in the bowl" thread I,m fascinated but far too squeamish to feed an all raw diet but would like to give Otis some variety and tr and help his dry skin.

Re: First egg
I give Logan sardines in olive oil once a week and that is said to be good for their coat. I also give apple cider vinegar per meal under advice from the forum and it is working well

Re: First egg
Eggs are a great source of protein and so are great for your dog. He will have a lovely shiny coat after eating them.
Not many animals will turn up their nose to an egg.

Re: First egg
I may sound really stupid, but how do you give your eggs?
Do you just crack them open - raw? Then pop in food etc.
Also, when people talk of scrambled egg, is this cooked as we would eat, or just eggs only, scrambled and cooked?
Also, I've heard mackrel is very good for coats, Samson gets a small tin in his food about once per week.

Re: First egg
Eggs can be fed however, shell and all if you want, or split over kibble
Scrambled egg os more for when they are off there food for whatever reason and yes I cook it like you would for a human.
If sardines are good, then yes mackerel would be also Xx

Re: First egg
Thanks everyone,
I tried an egg this morning mixed in with kibble, he was a little unsure to begin with, looking at me strangley. Then, gobbled the lot in seconds!!
I was covered in lots of gooey kisses after so I assume that was a big thanks! Haha!
With Easter approaching, will Samson be allowed a boiled egg to roll too? Any difference when the eggs are cooked?
Sorry, so many questions

Re: First egg
we put Brutus on raw eggs as well as sardines in olive oil twice a week. The reason we switched him to a raw diet was because he had bad skin. He now looks fantastic, no more dry skin and all the hair he lost due to canine dermotitis has grown back. Go for it, you will notice the difference in no time.
