Hello
Hi, I am Mark, I currently have four Staffords in the house, two are rescue and two were from pup.
Just over a year ago we had to have our first ever stafford, called JD, also a rescue, pts due to a tumour in his stomach at the age of 14. He had a good life, we got him when he was two years old through a family friend who rescues all breeds of dogs but mainly staffords, he was previously owned by a gypsy family who left him tied up outside and left the keep himself entertained.
Next we have Brandy, who we got from the family friend but as a pup and one of his 10, yes 10 staffs was having a litter, we got her because we thought it would be nice for JD to have a play mate, my sister named her Brandy to keep up with an alcohol theme along with JDs name, lol.
We kept to just the two dogs for the time being, until JD passed. My Dad was desperately missing JD and so was Brandy, she kept searching the house for him and seemed to be depressed. While me and my Mum were searching preloved for a few things we came across a staff that needed rehoming, she had previously been homed but the guy who homed her had a breakdown and left his flat, leaving her and a bigger dog in the flat, without food. When she was discovered in the flat, she was found to have puncture wounds around her neck where the bigger dog attacked her, because she is KC registered to people who previously owned managed to get her back because they had all necessary paperwork, they are the ones who put her on preloved and all they were asking was money to cover the vet bills for the injury's caused at the flat. The Dogs name is Saffie, she is absolutely beautiful, a little scared every now and then, which we put down to the attack at the flat.
While my Mum and Dad were getting Saffie from the previous owners they discovered that saffies sister was expecting puppies so my dad asked if he could come back and see the puppies when born and maybe reserve one, so thats what he did, and that, is where Jack comes in, we named him Jack after JD in a sort of honourable way, if that makes sense.
And finally we have Moo, I wanted a dog I could call my own, but I didnt want to get a new puppy from a breeder as there are to many staffs needing rescued. I got a call from the family friend saying that he has just had 3 pups come in and would I like to rehome one, well I couldnt refuse. Moos story is, her parents were bred purely FOR SOME SPENDING MONEY AT CHRISTMAS, the only problem with this was, the mum didnt want to know the pups, completely ignored them, killing one in the process, the owners of the dogs had heard of our friends services and asked him if he could hand rear the pups until the are "self sufficient and then hand them back, which he said he could do but there will be a charge as it is not an easy task. They declined his services becuase they didnt want to pay out. Now that they were left to look after the pups themselves, they got their daughter to feed them, who promtly drowned most of the pups by passing the food through the syringe to fast, out of the litter 3 survived. They contacted my friend again who took the remaining pups with him, I have the only surving bitch.
That is my story, I hope you enjoyed reading this and you could understand it as writing isnt my forte. Thank you, I am looking forward to using this forum and making new friends.
