aaaaaaaaargh!
As most of you guessed last night was my last night on at work and we had loads of snow this weekend.
Anyway 4 o'clock this morning we pull up to some little lights to turn right on to the dual carriageway. As our lights went green we pulled off and a 18 wheeler lorry went straight through on red doing at least 50mph so she had to do an emergency stop and missed the front of her car by inches, but he never even touched the brakes.
We did joke about it after saying we'd have been a little late for the call we were going to do, but in reality we were * lucky!

Bloody lorry drivers!
Glad you were both ok, though - could have been so much worse!

Re: aaaaaaaaargh!
My oh was driving the bus winter before last at about 5am, so still dark. Going down a duel carriageway a white van (going too fast & with no lights on) on the other side skidded, went onto two wheels & ran down the central reservation for about a hundred yards like that. As my oh said afterwards, if he'd gone across the reservation he would've hit the bus side on, and who knows how many people would have been injured.
Idiots.
Idiots.

Jeez that could have been a disaster. Glad a bit of luck was with ya.
I'm a car accident pro, they always seem to follow me everywhere I go!

Just count your blessings you had a lucky escape , simple fact is the more time you spend on the road the bigger (or worse) your chances become

I am so pleased your unharmed Ella, it is so scary on the roads at the best of times, Lorry drivers, taxi drivers and white van man are bad but it seems that if you have a nice car the rules dont apply and everyone else has to depend on their own emergency skills. Ali x

Re: aaaaaaaaargh!
Thank goodness you are both OK Ella.
Did you get the registration number or a name from the truck. You could contact the haulier and let them know about the drivers lack of due care and attention. They would be able to check the trucks tachograph (like a planes black box) and find out where it was at that time.
