Regardless of price, what would you say the best dry dog food is for a staffy, and why...

Personally I believe James Wellbeloved is ideal. Grain free, hypoallergenic, and it must taste good because Logan is a very picky eater and actually cries to get his dinner now.

I know you said price was irrelevant but it's well priced too. Which is important for people working to a budget.

Also, my friend's Stafford was really underweight and wouldn't eat a thing but she is thriving on it now .

I could only recommend what I/Rocky have used, so with Matt on the James Welbeloved and also Barking Heads what Rocky has now. We pay £24 for a 6 Kg bag of BH

Fish4Dogs still even though I know they changed it a bit, Moo is on Hills but its a prescription diet

Originally before we suspected Molly of allergies we used James well beloved lamb and rice.

Then we used to use Fish4Dogs but wont touch them now since the change they did, don't like what they have done and also don't like the way they did it either.

We now use Simpsons salmon and potato.

Though if price was of no concern then I would try Orijen 6 fish as the ingredients in that are truly top notch, but its out of the price range I am prepared to pay to be honest.

I've tried quite alot of food with Zeus as he had itching/skin problems with most of them (Royal Canin, Applaws, Wainwrights, Wafcol). I was chuffed when I switched him onto Fish4Dogs as it sorted all his problems out, almost overnight, no more scratching, dry, red skin, etc. But as John has just stated, I was gutted when they made the changes they did as it brought all his problems back, and I was even more unhappy about the way they did it.

I then moved onto Orijen, as I was fed up with constantly changing food, so I thought I would try the best (supposedly, as it's won 'Pet Food Of The Year' for a good few years on the trot), and it seems to be doing the trick. Yes, it is more expensive, but you feed a little less than normal food so it kind of balances out. I pay around £55 for a 13.5kg bag which lasts a month and a half.

If i had to go back to kibble for whatever reasons it would be Eden. 80% meat, 20% fruit and veg, no grain £50 for a 12kg bag. Similar to Acana/Orijen but made in the UK. The only food to have a 5 star rating on whichdogfood.co.uk aswell I'm sure

Out of all the ones I tried with Taz , I thought he looked in the best condition on the simpsons salmon and potato .
I also tried jwb and Arden grange both if which I liked but just not as much .
Eukenuba made his coat dry and he was never full on burns.
As you can see I have tried a lot of food lol

Eden, Orijen and Simpsons (all the foods on this topic) are all 5 star, so looks like we all know what we're talking about!

We used to use Wainwrights salmon n potato - which is great mid range food. But, they are both raw fed now. X

this is what i use aswell, tyke loves it and he doing really well on it price wise its affordable but im not one to recommend food haha

Checking out Acana here. Looks really good, but shockingly expesive £74.99 for 13kg. Ingredients seem good, and there doesn't seem to be too much in the way of rubbish fillers.

I'm trying a grain free diet with Logan so it wouldn't do me. But still a good quality food.

There is one at 45 quid but at the very bottom there is one at 75. It said all the 45 quid ones were out of stock.

If it was £45 I'd be quite pleased tbh. It would be worth that probably.

Well Eden is meant to be top quality anyway fella. Heard a lot of good stories.

As far as I know, Orijen & Acana are made by the same company (Champion), the only difference is that Orijen has more meat content.

I've managed to get a 13.5kg bag of Orijen from Viovet for around £55

Eden is a really good food IMO. I was originally going to go with Orijen, but Eden is cheaper and UK made

Well eden seems really decent so its worth a try. I hope it works

The best i tried was taste of the wild got it from zoo plus its imported from USA or Canada, its bison and 5 veggies the dog i had at the time loved it, but now i have 3 dogs it was getting to expensive at 60 pound a sack

anyone tried SBT pero food, mine loves it, £23 for 12kg

He's just come off that.. didnt like the lack of meat content in it.. He's eating Eden holistic now and it's fantastic!.
