Lap top help please!!!!!

So i think i have an electrical fault on my laptop. Just turned its self off and now when i plug charger in theres no light to say its charging and will not charge!!! Any one ever had this problem?!?!

am on the yeo faithfull janey, its 6 years old and still going runs slow, takes me ten mins to open a page!!!

Sounds like the power input socket has broken from the board. Common thing. Does the power light flick on and off if you wiggle it?
