Hi all, can someone help please.
Hi, I have a blue girl staffie, she is 13 months old. We got her just before Christmas as the woman that had her said she didn't have time anymore for her. I also have a girl chihuahua who's 2 years old. They get on great BUT some times my staffie pushes her and pins her to a door, wall, floor ect she is not aggressive but my chihuahua cries out and Skye lets go. Does this mean anything? Skye is fantastic with other dogs while out and about. Also she just started to growl at me when she has treats and I go close, anyway to stop this?
I don't think she was well looked after before she came here, but in the 4 months I've had her she has changed loads for the better. I just could do with some tips as the last staffie I had was nothing like Skye at all, he was perfect where's she a loveable handful lol. Any help is appreciated
Thanks for reading

Well first off you need to have a look here
http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/dog_body_language
It sounds like you may have some issues with food aggression also and to get this sorted you need to be the one in control, master. Do you make her wait before you let her feed ??

Hi Dave, yes she has to wait till I say for food, up till now I could take bones away without a problem. She isn't like it with her food at all. Both dogs will eat from same bowl and kids feed and they wait nicely its just yesterday and today there was a quite growl and she refused to let go of the bone. I carried on telling her to drop till I got it, I never let get win.

Anything changed you can think of ?? Is she may be due her season (timing would be about right) Tilly was great on her first season but really funny , moody , temperamental on her 2nd

Re: Hi all, can someone help please.
She hasn't had a season yet, I'm still waiting for her first. We moved home but nothing else has changed.
My chihuahua when she in season it swells and moves but she never bleeds, the vet said Skye might do the same just have to wait and see.

Did she have a season before you got her , she would be relatively old to be having her first one. Tilly bled quite a lot with hers but her moods started before the other signs

Re: Hi all, can someone help please.
I asked the woman when I had her if she had a season and she said not.
