I'm super excited!

This weekend Ebony has some play dates! Hopefully the weather doesn't put them off but tomorrow I'm meeting with a friend and their dog whose an American Cocker! We're going out on a nice long walk together and hopefully it'll give me a bit of time to train her round other dogs which is great news, many of you have probably seen my post about her called "aggressive or not" and I'm feeling pretty darn confident about tomorrow! Then on Sunday she has another friend called Sophie, a one eyed jack russle coming round for dinner so that's also great news Smile

I've got such a good feeling!!! Lets hope this weather doesn't cause cancelations! Big Grin

And my moms just informed me that for a treat for Ebonys first birthday she's found a dog friends camping site in Wales with acres of land and a cracking beach! All being if she's allowed since its breed permitting Sad

but fingers crossed ay! Big Grin

That sound like a great weekend, socialising with them works wonders. I only wish I could do it more often myself.

Wow, that sounds like a very exciting weekend! Always nice when they have regular playdates with regular mates. I hope the weather holds up and please let us know how you get on.

This part always annoys me about staying at places.

yeah I don't really have a chance to do it either Mat! People don't like socializing with her because of her breed which is a shame! But hopefully if all goes well she'll get a friend to play with Smile

I'm almost 100% sure everything will be alright because most dogs we meet are literally just a passing by; she's never had a chance to sniff properly and have a good old run about! How's Logan with other dogs? Smile

And thanks to the both of you! I'm sure it's gonna go well, the good news is one of the dogs is my Nan's dog so that's great as I'll always be able to take her out with ebony Big Grin

and me too, it's not dogs with the problem it's the owners and I think it's unfair Sad

nothing we can do really though - moms gonna call tomorrow Big Grin

Hit or miss if I'm truly honest. If a dog is small to medium sized he is bomb proof and fully trust worthy but anything bigger than him, he can be a bit nervous/defensive.

He was socialised a lot as a pup but unfortunately got in trouble a few times with big dogs. Subsequently he can be very defensive now that he is a big dog himself. Not every time, but the risk is there sadly.

He doesn't respond well when the owner of the other dog pulls their dog away. He was playing with an Irish Wolfhound a few weeks back and they were both fine, but then for some reason the owner pulled his dog away very aggressively and it set both dogs off.

Ebonys never had any bad experiences with other dogs and has been pretty well socialized but recently as she got bigger people are more reluctant to let her play! Hopefully she'll be like be bomb proof like Logan with all dogs once I can really get her out there! I'm still waiting for a class to get back to me Smile
