Paw
So now we seem to have mastered "sit" i thought i would try to teach Alfie "paw" last night. He definitely didnt grasp it at first and I had to keep picking his paw up a lot but he did it a couple of times.
So I tried again with it tonight and he did first time! And every time after that! So proud of my clever little boy I had to share

I find that they know exactly what you mean straight away, they just hold out in case you give them better treats . Well done to you and Alfie, he's doing really well with his training

My mum nearly cried when Logan started giving his paw. It's the little things that matter when looking after dogs.

Next, to really stretch his mind, tell him to go to work! J/k, good job!

Re: Paw
Thanks Mat. On the downside hes been put outside twice and i have 2 new bruises haha but hes just started biting again so i told him no which obviously didnt work lol and then i said "do you want to go outside?!" And he stopped dead and gave me the biggest puppy dog eyes! Im hoping it wasnt just coincidence because i have never used the word outside before?

Make sure you say something like "time to go outside" in a calm voice when you are putting him out. I say "time to go upstairs" when Logan is bad. Then when he is bad I can say "do you need to go upstairs?" and 9 times out of 10 he stops lol!
There's barely a day goes past when he doesn't misbehave at least once so don't let it annoy you that he was a bit bad

I agree! Wish I could teach my dog that too
But well done to you both! I don't think there's anything more rewarding than training your dog and seeing it pay off!

Re: Paw
ahh the paw! I wish I hadn’t taught Frank this as he now thinks he has the right to come up, slap his paw on my face and then wanders to his treat basket! ... Okay son ill take it you want a treat!! lol
when he is being a little devil the word "bath" stops him in his tracks ... "shower" he loves and will dart to the shower but "bath" seems to be his naughty word, he picked that himself lol saying that he wont actually got near the bath either!
