The last few weeks
Hey All, i havnt been online for a couple of weeks, so busy with work and stuff. but here is an update on our Marley.
The last 3 weeks she has started to have her big teeth come on through, no more razor puppy fronts lol, it looks SO funny because they are too big for her lol. One of her fang teeth came out yesterday. We have been giving her a frozen kong, frozen knotted towel and ice cubes when she begins to get mouthy. it seems to work.
She seemed to be being picky about her food, so i continued with her regular feedings and added a gravy and meat chunck based wet food from the same food manufacturer. she now INHALES it (with a big ball in the bowl to slow her down). great to see her eating her full meals and looking for more lol. We are feeding her Precise Holistic Small/Medium Puppy kibble with the chicken chunk and gravey or beef chunk and gravy.
WE FINALLY GOT HER EZYDOG GEAR lol, it was like christmas for me hehe. she looks smart and fits into her new harness perfectly and she seems quiet comfortable. Love the Cujo leash.
We finished our puppy socialization and beginner obedience. She is a social butterfly. She has still not had a growl from any dog to put her in her place yet. We have alot of work to do with training as we go forward. especially recall. we will be starting the Super Puppy class some time in the future. The trainer is really encouraging us to keep up with it as she seems to think Marley has some serious agility potential. if that is correct then thats really cool. gives us some more to look forward to.
She is 20 weeks and 20lbs / 9kg. Does this sound like good development?
I have also started to take her on real morning walks around our block for about 20-30 minutes. She seems so mellow after that walk and it seems to last her all day, no hyperness. I continue to still take her out 3 times daily to wee and walk etc. Our first walk around the block, her back main pads seemed to have scrapes and small ammounts of blood, i think from an excited rendezvous with an older lady who made an epic fuss over her and Marley decided to demonstarte her moonwalk abilities lol. i rested her for 2 days as it healed.
The farts.... they just take the air right out of your lungs lol.
I cant think of anything else at the moment. but thats my update on marley. love her to bits and life is awsome with her for me and my wife

Re: The last few weeks
I always love reading these, because everyone's puppies sound perfect, and then I look at Loki, who is 10 months old now, and just shake my head in disgust . But really, she sounds like she's doing brilliantly, you all must be really proud and I went to a mini-agility/puppy training thing a while back, and the trainer said to one of the helpers "I bet the Staff does the whole thing the fastest without getting scared," and he was right. I think they're well suited to it because they're so enthusiastic also, you can't update without pictures! Just a hint

Great to hear from you again. Sounds like Marley's doing well. She's a very pretty girl so I hope you got her EzyDog gear to match her colour. I'm a fan of EzyDog, Bacchus has the harness and half-check collar and the OH insisted I buy the Chocolate to suit his markings.
Good luck with the classes and when you post the pics make sure they have some views of your beautiful island as a backdrop please.

Absolutely thrilled that those devil teeth are gone lol, will the carrot cause any bum gravy or constipation? if i gave her one, should use it as a meal substitute? dont want to over feed her.

There's virtually no calories in most veg so don't worry about over feeding with them.
I feed veg every day to Logan but it is used as a low calorie filler to bulk up his meals. Plus he loves them.

thx mat, i will give it a try, carrots, any other frozen veg that works?
also, for the life of me, how does + Quote work? so i can stop bombarding with multiple posts?
Re: The last few weeks
To use the multi quote hit the +quote button of every quote you want to copy, then click "post reply" at the top of the page right beside where your first message is.
I give a range of different veg, my favourites are brocoli, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes. Be sure to remember that they really are filler, most dogs love them but they won't replace her other food at all.

and you freeze all of that? or raw? she has had raw carrot chunks
Re: The last few weeks
It's best to boil them and freeze them after. Some veg is hard for them to digest raw. For filling a kong I boil up broccoli and mash it up then freeze it.
With his meals I boil the veg in meat stock then mash it and mix it with his food. Logan is on a quite low calorie diet (like myself ) as I prefer a Stafford to be slim if possible.
He absolutely loves veg though.
Always avoid onions, grapes, raisins (I know the last two are fruits but still). As they are toxic to dogs. If you are in doubt of anything just ask though.

Re: The last few weeks
No probs
As Kylie said frozen carrots, and frozen veg in general is ace for teething.
Hard to beat ice cubes too haha!
Anything for a quiet life.

Re: The last few weeks
Thanks all, here is the photo blitz as my husband called it
So, we took Marley to the beach and well lets just say she enjoyed it but brought back enough sand to make a castle:
The other photos are just random and one with her ezdog collar, she doesn't stay still long enough to get a good pic
The one time she finally fell asleep, even if it was only for a few minutes - we think she thinks that she is going to miss out on something.

Great pics. So jealous of your weather, it's cold here in Aberdeen, with the wind coming in from Scandinavia apparently. It's -4 degrees with the wind chill.
She's growing into a little lady now and IT literate I see from photo No. 6.
