Stroking
When i go to stroke Mia she sometimes dips her head out the way like she doesn`t want to be touched. Does anyone know why she does this?

Re: Stroking
Is she a rescue dog? If so, she may have had some bad experiences with it. It could also be that she's hurt her head and doesn't want to be touched.
But then again, it might be that she's moving her head so that you stroke a different part of her body. Dempsey moves his head up when you try to stroke it, so that you stroke his throat instead.

Re: Stroking
Could be that it's making her jump if she doesn't see your hand coming.
Has she banged her head at any point?

Re: Stroking
I take it her hearing is good?
If so, then maybe she just doesn't like her head stroked!

Re: Stroking
No she definately doesn't have hearing problems lol. Most of the time she doesn't do it, just now and then when you touch the top of her head.

Re: Stroking
I know how you feel. Logan doesn't like being stroked at all. Just gets up and walks away.
Guess some dogs just don't like it.

Re: Stroking
If it's only occasionally, I agree with Mat. She probably just doesn't want to be bothered at that particular time.
